* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

My name is Ivan Ong and i’m 23 years old this year and I reside in a beautiful island call Singapore.

As of now, i’m am still schooling in NTU doing a degree in Business majoring in Marketing. There’s still a year more for me before i finally finish my studies and i could go full time online.

My area of expertise is in PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising particularly in Google Adwords and i use PPC to to drive traffic to various affiliate offers specially in the area of CPA (Cost Per Action) and some on Clickbank. I have been in this area for slightly more then a year now, (Started my first campaign in Dec 07) and am proud to say that this Internet Business have changed my life completely.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

My first success came when my friend recommended me a course by Gauher, PayPerClickFormula, which is essentially a course on driving traffic to CPA offers via PPC advertising.

I launched my first campaign in Dec 07, probably a good month to start because of the festive season and i was promoting a shopping gift card email submits. I was slapped big time on Google for quality score issues because i did not understand what Google wanted from me. I relaunched my campaign on Yahoo and i just breakeven for the month. However, this experience told me that it is possible to earn money from PPC if you find the right formula.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

One obstacle would be getting past the Google Adwords Quality Score system because if you can’t get past this obstacle, there is no way you can lay your hands on the Big G and Google is where the majority of traffic comes from.

Understanding how Google gives you your quality score will help you tremendously in staying competitive and getting ahead of your competitors. Its no longer good enough to get 7-8 quality score… I always aim to optmise my best performing keywords to a quality score of 10/10 and that of coz, comes with experience and skill in doing so.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

Passion and Drive… Know what you want to achieve and why you want to achieve it. Make that your driving force to push you ahead in difficult times.

Throughout this one year, you bet there are countless setbacks that i have come across and the thought of giving up did cross my mind but knowing that working a 9-5 job when i graduate kept me from giving up and pushing on. Understand why you want to be in this business and the how will come naturally… 3 words to give to John’s readers….

5. Share with us about the uniqueness of one of your products.

I do not particularly have a product on hand now except for a report which i wrote quite some back time on how i made US$300 a day in revenue using PPC… However, i have gone on to make several times more then this now and a few of my strategies have since changed. However, you could still go download it at my blog and have a read. Its good for beginners and basic enough for most people to understand the nature of this business.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

I am intending to change the report to a latest version on my blog to give my readers the latest update to the strategies and tricks that i am using currently…

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

Internet Marketing is probably the easiest and most lucrative business that you can be in with low capital and low start up cost. I only started out with (USD$800) in my bank account a year ago.

Like all businesses, the startup can be quite daunting especially the learning curve but with the correct mindset and attitude, you will overcome the learning curve no matter how tough it is for you. Every successful internet marketer have gone past your stage of being a beginner and its only through perservance that they eventually succeed…

Understand the WHY and the HOW will come naturally…
