5 Ways You Can Make Money By Blogging

from amagill
Hey,
It is weekend again. I have been hearing alot of excuses from some subscribers saying that they have no time, no money…blah blah blah.
In fact, during these two weeks, it had been really tough for me. I think I am almost on the verge of entering depression, having to learn to take care of my newborn plus having to run a team plus 5 staff. All to be done within 2 months!
The excuses which I had been hearing makes me wonder what is stopping people from being successful online.
So I asked myself, what if I were to restart my blogging and internet marketing journey without any list, without any knowledge of generating traffic and marketing and without any team to help me.
In the midst of such tough times for myself, I decided to give myself a challenge. “You must be wondering if I am crazy.
Yes, I am! Beating challenges which I set for myself makes me feel empowered somehow! And yes! Now I feel better, after selling 5 blogs for more than US$250 each in 2 weeks!
One day, I decided to pick up blog flipping – creating a totally new blog from scratch and sell it for more than US$250.
This method does not require you to have a list or any traffic generation or marketing knowledge. And the best thing is you can do it on your own.
In this blog post, I am presenting to you 5 simple ways to make money from blogs, including blog flipping.
Yesterday, I got a few emails from my subscribers asking about the different ways and how different they are. I think it can be really confusing for new marketers and the technical aspect of generating traffic can be overwhelming too.
So let me address these issues now so you can learn something, apply it and start your journey of making money online…Start today!
Let’s Go!
5 different blogging for profit methods:
1. Blog selling/ flipping
Two weeks ago, I did a simple experiment.
Many newbies asked me how to make money if they want to save the hassle of driving traffic and selling affiliate products.
So here is what can you do.
I decided to just sell the ready-made blogs and that’s it!
The outcome was I sold 5 blogs for around $280 per blog! That is a total of $1400 in 2 weeks.
No driving of traffic. No backlinking. No selling.
I personally believe that as long as you know how to set up a wordpress blog, you can sell a blog for a profit.
These are 5 steps you can take:
a. get a domain from godaddy.
b. buy a paid theme so you can resell it in the blog. Studiopress theme is one of them.
c. buy photos from istockphotos
d. write 10 250-words articles for the blog content (or you can have them outsource)
e. list in flippa.com ‘s marketplace, sell it and collect the money
other marketplaces:
https://sitedeal.org/
https://www.namepros.com/
https://forums.digitalpoint.com/
https://www.lazyrevenue.com/marketplace
https://www.warriorforum.com/
https://www.sedo.com/
2. Advertising (Adsense, Kontera etc)
Personally, I have a few niche blogs which make money from Adsense. The niche blogs have good content, good targeted keywords and some traffic.
Hehe…I am not going to share with you what niche I am doing. A rule of thumb is to create blogs based on themes which are profitable and on demand.
There are evergreen topics such as foreclosures, credit repair, dating, work at home, travel etc.
These are 5 steps you can take:
a. Sign up for a domain or you can get a free blog from blogger.com
b. Sign up for google adsense
c. Paste the content in the blog
d. Add adsense blocks in the sidebar and in the content
e. Add meta tags and meta descriptions (Make sure you get good keywords.)
3. Private Ads sales
#2 and #3 are generally the same. The difference is when your blog has more traffic (perhaps about 10 to 30 unique views a day), some private advertisers may contact you for a paid backlink or a banner ad.
It depends on the traffic and how popular your blog is.
These are 5 steps you can take:
a. Sign up for a domain or you can get a free blog from blogger.com
b. Add good content
c. Add meta tags and meta descriptions (Make sure you get good keywords.)
d. Generate traffic such social bookmarking, article directory submission
e. Contact potential advertisers using Google adwords
I have personally sold $197 for one simple backlink ad and made more than $2000 for one horizontal banner ad.
All you need to do is generate a healthy amount of traffic to your blog and have an “Advertise with Us” link in your blog so advertisers can contact you.
4. Selling own products
If you want to make more money, you MUST have your own products. Most 6-figure earners have their own products to market and sell.
If your niche is on panic attack, you can create a 30-pages ebook on panic relief and sell it at $17 to $27.
If you are in dating niche, you can sell audio products on how to pick up girls and sell it at $37 to $57.
If you are in make-money-online niche like myself, you can make products to help other people make more money.
These are 5 steps you can take:
a. Ask yourself which is your most popular blog post
b. Based on the blog title, create a table of content
c. Write an ebook and pdf it
d. Sign up for paypal account
e. Create an ecover and place a buy button in your blog at the sidebar
5. Promoting other people’s products (Affiliate marketing)
However, if you do not have time to create your own product, you can sell other people’s products as affiliates.
One of the best places is Clickbank.com or you can sign up for other affiliate programmes such as cj.com, amazon affiliate or ebay partner network.
These are 5 steps you can take:
a. Get a domain from godaddy and use the sidebar widget
b. Sign up for an affiliate program
c. Add the html codes at the sidebar
d. Create a review post for the affiliate product you are promoting
e. Continue to drive targeted traffic
Before we end off, there is something else you must know.
Generally, to succeed in niche blogging or any other form of internet marketing, you need to have these 3 things…
1. Traffic
Traffic is like blood to your blog. No blood means that your blog will die.
So generate traffic to your blog and you can start simple ways such as submitting good quality articles to article directories like ezinearticles.com
Or you can buy paid traffic depending on what niche you are in. You can buy solo ads from bloggers who have list. Or you can buy text links placed on other related blogs.
2. Potential earnings
This is good for blog flipping. Your blog needs to be professional looking and there must be more than 3 income generation mediums such as affiliate products, adsense and cpa products.
Remember, your buyers are buying it based on the earning potential of your blogs.
3. Earnings
If you have made some money, it is a BIG bonus too. This means that your blog is working and you can either keep it or sell it.
The more you make, the higher the price you can list your blog at.
Or you can keep it and collect passive income every month.
That is all for today’s sharing.

Hi John,
My name’s Jonathan and I’m the Community Manager at Kontera. Thanks for bringing up Kontera in your article, it was a really interesting read.
I would second your sentiment that using Kontera is a great way to monetize. One of the things that really makes Kontera special is our contextual technology, which can scan a webpage and understand the actually meaning of a page, not just keywords. This is especially important when we’re talking about niche topics, where recognizing related subjects is critical to finding the most relevant ads. Kontera is can accomplish that, and that’s part of why we deliver the highest CTR and best CPC.
Another reason is our exclusive ad inventory of premium, often Rich-Media In-Text ads from some of the most famous brands in the world, including Microsoft, Volvo, Dove, Kmart, L’Oreal, and Quaker. These creative ads are consistently the best performing, offer the highest CPC, and Kontera is the only In-Text network you’ll find them on.
Kontera also makes sure we take care of out publishers, giving new publishers a 70% revenue share, which is the best in the industry. There’s also a $50 bonus for any new publisher who gets at least 25,000 page views during their first 30 days on the Kontera network, and we recently lowered our minimum payout threshold from $100 to $50.
If you’d like to learn more about what the Kontera network has to offer, you can visit our Publisher page: https://www.kontera.com/publishers
Thanks,

Interesting bro. Your tips sounds not to hard to be done 🙂
You need no traffic, backlinks, etc to make money, that is really genius.
Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome. Glad you enjoy my article. =)

Hi John
I have flipped some blogs in the past, that have been monetised with Adense, Ebay & Amazon and this is a great business model, very easy to set up.
I sold mine on Flippa and had no problems at all.
Julie
I think you made your points clear.
Now, in case of blog flipping, how can I push the site to the seller if the host is in my account? Do I have to get separate hosting account per blog?
@Tom, for the pushing of hosting account, you can contact your hosting company.
Normally, customers have their hosting accounts or you can get them to sign up under your affiliate link.
Hi John,
Over a year ago, I had a “advertise with us” on my blog. I got one advertiser to sign up.
Several months later, I lost my Google page rank. It went from a “4” to a “0”
I was told Google penalizes “paid links” and that’s why I lost my page rank.
Since then, I no longer have an “advertise with us” on my blog.
Can you please clear this up? Did I miss something?
Thank you.
@Scott, you can get them to be listed under “Recommended links” 🙂
Thanks for sharing. You always supply good information. I do not have a blog yet. I keep telling myself to set one up soon. Bloggers seem to have all the fun, by interacting with others. However, I do have several stationary sites.
Hi John, This was awesome. I will keep coming back to read it , so I don’t forget these great tips from you. God Bless.
i am still in the process of creating a blog. i am newbie and i am looking forward to avail your tips.
