When setting up a business for your offline consulting, it is important to remind yourself not to work yourself to death.

Many small business offline consultants that I know are working 12 to 18 hours a day to fulfill orders. They range from designing blogs to building backlinks for their customers’ blogs. For every project that they have completed, they take on another way and continue working to help their customers.

There is nothing wrong with this system, only if you really working and would rather spend time working than travelling or doing other things you enjoy more.

In today’s blog post, I would like to share with you a business system which can bring you passive income every month without you doing much work.

Well, perhaps you need to oversee the system and tweak it to be more efficient so you have even lesser work.

In the offline consulting niche, one has to understand that the purpose is to meet the need of your customers who are the business owners. Let’s narrow down and I personally prefer to work with small business owners mainly for these two reasons.

- Small business owners are either a one-man team or has a few staff and they can make decisions faster.
- Small business owners have many many tasks to handle daily and they are always more than delighted to have you coming in to help them and most of them really appreciate your help.

One of the needs of a small business owners is tight budget and they lack IT expertise. Even if they know how to set up a blog or site, they will not have time to do it because they have other prioritites such as fulfilling orders for their own customers.

So, imagine this, what if you can provide a service like this
- ready made site with ready content
- all you need to do is to change the contact to that of your customer
- you can help upload the images for your customers
- your customer can rent your blog and decide after a few months if having online presence works for him.

In my coaching, I have taught my student this method and he ended up making US$8000 in residual monthly income within 30 days. So anyone can easily do it, including you.

So what should you prepare now, even if you want to test it just for the next 30 days.

Remember now is the testing phase and you got to keep your cost low.

Next, you can use free WordPress themes. There are tons of them. All you need to do is to Google “cake + free wordpress themes” if you are targeting home bakers. If you are targeting dentists, Google “dentist + free wordpress themes”.

Set up a blog and add about 2 to 3 pages so that there is content on your blog.
If you want to add more pictures, use stock free images.

Now, let’s work out the Maths.

Renting a blog at $100/ month with all the following services
- changing of contacts
- adding customer’s content such as text and images

To make $5000 a month, all you need to find 50 customers.

Here are some places you can find customers
- Yellow Pages
- Chamber of Commerce
- Groupon
- Business Directories

Next, changing contacts and uploading content are considered as eazy low level jobs and you can hire
a part time freelancer at about $400/ month to do it for you.

So you will still have $4600 passive month every month and there is no need for you to do much work.

With his research done, he approached the clients who he has narrowed down to.
Out of 10 customers he approached, 3 said “yes” and 2 said “maybe”.

Out of the 3 “yes”, he sold them a $1000 a month package which include
- site set up and design
- creation of squeeze page and contact me form
- search engine optimisation (SEO)
- website monthly maintenance (such as adding of new photos, contents, offers and so on)

Since the keywords targeted were easy to rank in search engines due to low competition, his customers got at least $5000 worth of orders every week from restaurant owners who found them on the web.

Let’s take a quick look at the summary of the customer’s experience:
- $1000 investment
- $5000 of sales every week made within a month (500% ROI!!!)

Outcome:
The customer paid my student 6 months upfront so he can lock in the deal of $1000 per month.
And with the testimonials and proven track records, he increased the price of his package from $1000 to $2000 and approached the other 2 “maybes” and converted them to “yes”.

Now this is what he is making from his small but loyal pool of customers who trust him alot:
- US$3000 from the first 3 customers
- US$4000 from the two customers who had signed up later

Total income per month: US$7000 (which is much more than the average income of most profession)

To come to think about it, this model is a very simple model and anyone, including YOU can easily grasp and apply within a week or two.

You know some basic internet marketing skills.
You know where your clients are.
You know what to offer them.
You sell to them and most importantly, you get paid!

Being able to competently use Facebook fan page to blog, brand and make money is the IN thing right now. I did a last check and Facebook fan page managers earn between 60USD to 660USD per day, depending on the job scopes such as posting updates, communicating with fans, monitoring, running campaigns and designing of fan pages.

By now, you should be ready to start your new venture. I have a student who started 2 weeks ago and she is now in the online marketing planning phase with her client.

This means that she is discussing with her client how they should design their sites to suit their business and how they should start collecting leads.

This collaboration is worth over US$2000!

Remember this is just one customer who is worth $2000. (Not forgetting the various upsells we discussed in Part 4 Increasing Your Profits.)

What about just getting another 2 more customers and that is $6000 in revenue!

If your first customer is a dentist, get 2 more dentists.
If your first customer is a lawyer, find 2 more lawyers.
If your first customer is a insurance agent, get 3 more agents.

Why would you want to get customers in the same niche?

It makes more sense because after serving your first customer, you know more about their needs and wants.

Armed with this new knowledge, it puts you in a better position to close the deal.

Plus, you can always tell your prospects you have a happy customer just like THEM.

After connecting with your leads, you will realise that there are many needs of a customer. Providing one type of service is never enough to satisfy the many other needs he has and the new needs you have created through introducing him the first service.

Let me share with you some examples.

What if your customer is a dentist?

You can:
1. Create an opt in box for him to collect leads
2. Create good content for customers to read, such as how to keep our teeth clean, how to choose the right type of dentist for you
3. Generate targeted traffic to the blog

What if your customer is a education centre manager?

You can:
1. Do market research and competitor analysis for her
2. Create fan page for her students to interact
3. Create marketing materials and free reports such as how to get better grades, how to manage your stress during examination period

What if your customer is a plumber?

You can:
1. Build a lead capture page and create a freebie bait
2. Create autoresponder messages to warm up his lead
3. Create marketing materials for the plumber to sell his service

In fact, if you still can’t think of any idea to upsell, you can always refer to the 10 services in part 1.

In the next and last part, I am going to talk about how you should and MUST Stick to one niche and build a base of similar customers.

In the last post, I talk about getting leads. Now, I want to talk about how you can connect with them and what online platform you can use.

What is the most popular social networking site?

Yes, you are right.

Facebook.

Almost everyone has an account in Facebook. And that includes your potential customers.

The main advantage of finding your leads from Facebook is that he already has an account and is actively using it. And you can get to connect with him and build relationship.

How you can do it?

By setting up a Facebook page like my fan page on blogflipping, you can communicate and connect with your leads.

What do you need in a fan page?

You need a “Welcome” tab like the one below to share what your fan page is about and what the fans can get out of it.

Since you are really serious in building your business, get a professional designer to design your fan page for you.

I got one who is really good in design to do it for me and if you need my help to connect you with her, do let me know.

The main focus of using a fan page is to engage your fans and talk to them. Find out about exact needs and be there to offer good solution.

It will take time for the fans to warm up and while waiting, just be sure you are offering great information.

One tip is to be in your fan’s shoes. If you are have a fan base of dentists, what info do they need. If they are lawyers, what do they need.

Most importantly, be yourself and deliver your own style. DO NOT run just another fan page for dentists or lawyers. You are unique! So be yourself while engaging the fans and do what you do best. =)

In this post, I am going to talk about how you where you can get leads for your business.

There are 4 requirements that you MUST meet:

1. They have deep pockets
2. They are already advertising
3. They have a website
4. Niches which are VERY profitable

Deep pockets means they have budget to spare for advertising. Getting clients who are ALREADY advertising also means that they are already doing so and there is NO need for you to sell them the benefits of advertising and marketing their businesses.

Having a website means they are ALREADY open to online marketing and this should make your job easy. Niches which are VERY profitable means that one lead for your customer can bring about a few hundred to thousand dollars profit.

Here are some niches you can look into:
1. Travel
2. Lawyer
3. Insurance, especially individual disability insurance.
4. Dentist
5. Property
6. Hotels
7. Mortgage
8. Refinance

Now, where can you get leads.

I will show you the following sources for your leads collection:
1. Google adwords advertisers
2. Google places
3. Facebook fan pages owners
4. Local magazines
5. Online directories such as yellow pages

6. Competitor’s websites showing who are advertising in their sites
7. Forums
8. Review sites for your niche
9. TV commercials
10. Conferences and trade shows

I am pretty sure you have enough information to start researching which niche you want to go into.

Don’t forget this similar strategy has brought my student from my coaching programme thousands of dollars within a short period.

So it is possible for you too and all you need to do is to start working now!

In this social media era, readers want to interact with the companies.

So how can these make you LOTS OF MONEY?

Knowing what to do is already half the battle won. Knowing how to do it is a bonus. Knowing where to get it done is your trump card. (You notice that I did not share how you should do this and that.)

You see, you are the manager here. Bring in business and manage their sites. Get someone else to do the work for you and you pocket the profit.

It is very simple.

If you charge a company US$500 to manage their websites or blogs plus their fan pages, you just need 10 customers to have a recurring income of US$5000 every month. And you are working from home!

3. Leverage on what you do best and focus on ONE Blog

I am sure you can do something well. Even if you are working for someone else, you are trained to do your job really very well.

For instance, if you teach Maths in school, you can leverage it by being the best Maths teacher in town.

You can create a website targeting parents who need to engage Maths tutor for their kids.
Your website can provide content for parents on how to choose the right tutors based on their kids’ needs.
You can build a list of parents and market to them other related products or services.
One of them is a Maths workshop for parents and bring in partners who complement your service. They can be textbook publishers, stationery sellers, calculators sellers etc.

Sounds scary? If you do not know to get in partners, hire someone who does and give him commission.

I am creating a niche which will bring in US$10,000 a month. But for beginners, you can work around this range. For example, a workshop can bring in US$2000 profit. You just need to do twice a month to have a monthly paycheck of US$4000.

I guess my wish is not important…really.

What really is important is what your Christmas wish is.

It could be getting that branded bag you see in the shopping mall lately.

It could be simply being able to talk to your parent more.

It could be having an online business to replace your income.

The possibility of wishes is endless…

No matter what your wish is. I am sure you are going to get it as long as you continue to fight for it. Or some of you already have them – Yeah! Early Christmas gift!

Christmas is coming and everyone is thronging the shopping malls to get gifts for exchange. But please get the right gift!

A moment ago, one of my friends told me she got a book as a gift for Christmas exchange. She has to return it because the content is scary and not suitable for kids.

Knowing who you are giving to and whether your gift is of the right kind is important.

Workshops are already very lucrative!

Selling tickets to 200 participants at $20 each can bring you $4000 for that one day.

When you have traffic to the blog, advertisers will want to work with you so as to place their ads in front of your readers’ eyes.

These are just 2 income generation models for blogs and there are a whole list of methods you can apply.

But always remember!

Creating value for your readers always come FIRST!
