Newbie marketers as well as intermediate marketers like ourselves always face this problem – getting traffic.

Many others had spent countless hours creating very professionally looking websites or blogs, only to find themselves getting stuck at the end. Soon, they abandoned their hard work just because they fail to bring visitors to their blog and not realising how easy it is to get traffic.

This popular sites already have tons of traffic and you can sign up an account for free. So what you can do is set up your own blog and get their traffic too.

Most sites like this have step-by-step instructions on how you can go about doing it.

3. Submitting articles to directories

If you have an article, you can submit them to popular article directories. One of them is ezinearticles.com

Signing up is free and you need a few days for your article to be approved. Once approved, you will get some traffic to your blog.

Again, it is leveraging on popular sites.

These are just some of the basic strategies I used for generating traffic to my niche blogs.

And as you do more, it gets easier gradually.

For this new series, I am interviewing local entrepreneurs. And the questions will be based more on “Mindset of Entrepreneurs”.

From my own experience, striving to be successful for online and offline businesses requires you to have a strong mindset.

* Start of Interview *

1. Please share with my readers who you are and what nature of business you are running.

[Violet:] I am Violet, happily married with two wonderful kids and I am a professional matchmaker.

2. What motivates you to create your business?

[Violet:] Well, I have my ex-colleagues to thank. While working in the bank, I realised that a lot of my colleagues were single and not dating, and I was quite puzzled as they were all eligible and attractive people. Upon further investigation, I realise that it’s because they were all married to the bank. At the same time, I realised that a lot of my friends were either getting engaged or getting married. Most of my friends knew their other halves at school or at university. That’s how I met Jamie, my then boyfriend, now husband as well. It then dawned upon me that when people ‘missed the boat’ of meeting the right one while studying it gets increasingly difficult for them to meet like-minded singles thereafter.

Coincidentally, at the same time, I came across the concept of lunch dating that has been popular in UK, US and Australia but nobody has brought the idea into Singapore or even Asia at that time. Having been active in community service since I was a student, I like the idea of this concept as it combines my passion for business with my passion of helping people.

3. Were there any challenge you face along the way? Please share one which almost stop you from pursuing your dream

[Violet:] Definitely. When you are a start-up or an entrepreneur, you will be spending most of your time fire-fighting as there is no SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for you to follow. There were many challenges along the way, but with the help of my partner who is also my husband, and the rest of my team, we were able to overcome these challenges one-by-one. I don’t think there wasn’t any challenge that stop me from pursuing my dream as whatever the challenge might be, I would strive to overcome it. We had a scare when the economy collapsed, and we just expanded to Hong Kong then. But with God’s grace and team work, we pulled through and managed to build up our presence in Hong Kong.

4. How did you cope then? What motivates you to push on?

[Violet:] I believe that it is normal to feel down and out. However, just do not dwell in darkness for too long. You have to pull yourself up and face up to the challenge. When Jamie and I set up the company, we set our vision and mission statement which I refer back to if I am ever in doubt of what we are doing. I believe that we are here to help singles, and along the way, we realise that this is probably our calling. I have been blessed with a loving husband, a beautiful family and I believe that I am here to help singles out there find the happiness that I have found.

5. If there is this one tip you can share with anyone who wants to start a business, what is it?

[Violet:] There are many ways to make money. Therefore, do not go into a business just with the intention to make money. Of course it is important for any business to be profitable. But if you do not have the passion for your business, you are better off working for someone else. Keep in mind, 90% of first businesses fail in the first five years. There are many challenges and speed bumps when you start and run a business. If you do not have the passion to fuel you through, you will burn out really quickly.

6. How do you juggle your time between running your business and spending it with your family.

[Violet:] With a lot of help and support! Contrary to what some might believe, I am NOT a superwoman. I can only be doing all that I am doing because I have a team of wonderful cheerleaders and supporters – my husband, my parents, my in-laws, my extended family, my helper, my team at work who help me pursue and fulfill my dreams. I make it a point to spend the weekend with the family. Thus, if I have to work on the weekends, I would take a day off during the week to spend time with them. One of the perks of running your own business is that you have time flexibility. If I take time out from work to spend time with them in the day, I can just make it up by working at night after they have gone to bed.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share in this interview.

[Violet:] There are many paths to success and personal fulfillment. The path of entrepreneurship is not for everybody, but if you have the passion to help others through what you do, and the determination and perseverance to take the path less travelled, I strongly encourage you to pursue your dreams and reach for your stars! Hi, I hope it has been a great long weekend for all my local subscribers as we celebrate our nation’s birthday!

Yesterday, a friend of mine asked a very insightful question when we were chatting on skype.

He said this:

Is blog flipping Dead?

Now if you’ve read my previous posts on how I and my coaching students have been flipping start-up sites and making a modest sum of money out of them, you probably might be thinking the same thing.

The truth is sales/bids in flippa for start-up sites have dropped significantly recently. A few months back, start-up sites could easily sell for 300-400 bucks a piece. Since these are sites where you could set up in 3 to 4 hours, generating a 3-4K income was drop dead easy. I mean anyone who knows how to setup a wordpress blog and some simple design could slap up a site and flip it for a cool 300 income day. In fact, I know some of you who were following my posts tried to do it yourself.

My guess is that NOW, you’re barely making 100 bucks a piece for your effort (no doubt it’s still decent income)… it’s not nearly as lucrative as before right?

Yes, these days, a more realistic target for start-up sites would be in the range of $50-$150. After the subtracting the costs (domains, listing fees, etc.) some of the sites would even struggle to get any profits at all. You see, competition has been fierce in flippa; just like any good money making opportunity that comes out, once the mass crowd hears about how lucrative it is… tonnes of people will jump on the bandwagon.

Will so many people slapping up start-up sites in the market place, supply will overtake the demand and prices are bound to drop. Not to mention that a lot of newbies are throwing up low quality sites with bad designs, lousy niches and sucky copies.

So is the honeymoon for start-up sites over? Is blog flipping dead?

Well, my answer is:

Yes and No.

Yes the honeymoon is over, period. No longer can anyone jump in with the same old strategy of listing a lousy new site and hope to quit your job (unless you have really low expenses or pay). What I’m about to say might shock you:

This is Good News.

Why you ask? This leads to my next point of why blog flipping is NOT dead.

As the amount of internet users grow (and it WILL continue to grow), the niches will grow. Internet Marketing will continue to grow and thus demand for sites will grow. It would be impossible that websites suddenly have no demand whatsoever as sites are essentially businesses as well. Demand would not cease as sites have almost become a commodity these days.

Now the only thing in question would be the supply. Now when it isn’t as easy for people to jump in, it’s great for serious business people in the blog flipping industry. Less of the low quality junk sites would be out there and sellers would be focus on quality as well. It is thus a better environment to create a real business.

So what makes me say that? The matter of fact is there are still serious sellers out there making a steady 200-300 dollars per site while others are earning less than half of that. Even for me and my students, we tend to make 200-300 dollars per listing; that is even if the winning bid of our blogs in flippa is less than $100. This is only possible if you know what to do. Treating it like a business instead of a get rich quick scheme has allow the serious people to thrive in this business.

The conclusion? I would love for the people who just wanna get rich quick think that blog flipping is dead. For the rest of us who are serious (like those who joined my Exclusive Underground blog flipping Coaching Program), blog flipping is alive and kicking! So if you want to make money out of blog flipping, you really need to be serious and treat it like a business.

I have been getting an overwhelming number of applications and my skype is going off like crazy right now. So just to save all of us some time, I want to clarify some things about my Exclusive Underground blog flipping Coaching Program (read this first if you haven’t seen this). 1. Do I need to have blogging experience?

No. To begin with, in blog flipping, what you essentially do is just the setting up of the blog; you don’t actually do active blogging on it. It would be helpful (especially in future), but it wouldn’t be necessary as of now. In fact I will be coaching you how to blog anyway.

2. What if I do not know any design?

No problem. I have customised designs which you can choose from to use. I would also be covering on how you can do simple edits and get the designs you need.

3. How fast can I make money? And how long does it take to make $1000?

If you can learn fast and already have basic understanding, you might make your first sale within a week. And you will be on course to make your first $1000 in less than a month. If you are new, you might take at least 3-4 weeks for your first sale and about 2 months or so for your first $1000.

4. How much can I expect to earn monthly after completing the program?

After you’ve made your first $1000, it will just be a matter of scaling up and deciding how much work you want to do. If you spend 2-3 hours per day (part-time) at it, you’ll safely earn between USD$1000 to USD$2000 per month. If you decided to scale up and spend more time on it, it is definitely possible that this will developed into a full-time 5 figure business.

5. When is the workshop? Where will it be conducted? What time?

The 2 days LIVE workshop will be conducted on the 21st and 22nd August (Sat and Sunday) near Kembangan MRT from 9am to 5pm.

6. What’s in this program beside the 2 days workshop?

The first 2 days will be an intensive workshop where I will share with you all the secrets, tips and tricks to blog flipping. You would also be able to see LIVE over my shoulders how I actually does it myself. After which you would follow a daily action plan and follow step-by-step videos at your own pace to complete your first blog and listing. For support, you would be getting my private skype and a private forum where you can record your progress and get help from.

8. What is the difference between this program and the online course?

Before anything else, I would like to remind you that there is no guarantee that there will be an online course. If there is, it will be hugely different from this program. This is a COACHING PROGRAM where I will be able to work CLOSELY with you to make sure you succeed. Since my baby girl was born, I’ve had a lot less time in front of the computer.
She has to be fed about 5 times a day. I was so tied up and waking up in the middle of the night to change her diapers that I made a decision in my business.

Hi, I have hoped you enjoyed the 7 questions in part 1. Now I am going to cover more on blog flipping so you can start making big money really soon.

1. What are the most important aspects of blog flipping?

If you are flipping new blogs, the important aspects are the design of the blogs, bonuses you are giving plus the earning potential of the blogs.

For design of the blogs, you should get professionally designed theme such as woothemes or studiopress themes. By editing the images and the color codes of the stylesheets, you can magically create professionally-looking blogs.

For bonuses, always look for those which can add value to your customer. Some examples are unique articles, ebooks, paid plugins and so on. Remember, your buyer wants to make money with the newly-bought blog. So whatever you can provide which help me reach closer to his goal is always welcome.

For earning potentials of the blog, it should be able to make money with different monetisation methods such as adsense earnings, affiliate marketing, cost-per-action marketing, selling own products and so on. Again, the buyer wants to make money and the blog should be able to have some means to make money.

If you are selling mature blogs with traffic or earnings or both, you should be able to present proof of your traffic (or earnings).

For traffic, do present your google analytic reports and show what keywords your blog is ranking.

For earnings, do show your adsense earnings reports if it is an adsense blog or your Clickbank earnings printscreens if you are making money with selling affiliate products. Some sellers even do a video of them logging into thier adsense or Clickbank account so as to prove that their earnings are real.
These may seem daunting at first glance but I’ve developed systems and steps that are simple and easy to follow which has benefitted my students greatly.

2. How do you really know what niche to choose and what to avoid?

It is easy to find what niches are hot. One of them is go to what are sold in the blog marketplace at http://flippa.com/buy/listings/sold

Research has already be done for you and you just need to sell what other people are selling well.

Another good place to find profitable niches for your blog is Clickbank marketplace. Go for those with high gravity, above 100 and those are niches which people are still buying. “100 means that about 100 affiliates have been paid their commissions.

Personally, I always check out those unsold blogs at http://flippa.com/buy/listings/unsold and I will avoid those niche blogs which ended unsold.

3. If you find a niche that proves fruitful do you just keep producing blogs within that niche? Is there a saturation point?

Yes, personally I go for a maximum of 6 niches. First, as you do more, it is easier for you to focus on just these niches. Plus, you have already invested in these 6 niches’ bonuses. So it makes sense to fully utilise them. And as you do more of your selected niche blogs, you get to be more and more familiar to the style of your blogs. Digressing into more than 10 niches will stress you out unless you are planning to outsource the work.

4. Where to get the contents for the blog?

You can get 2 kinds of content. One is the private label rights (PLR) contents and you can buy them from Warrior forum special offer thread or any PLR store.

For unique content, you can write them yourself or get writers to write for you. You can find writers from elance.com, getafreelancer.com, odesk.com etc

5. Should content be unique or can autoblog do?

Both work equally well.

If you are selling an auto-blog(or blog with auto-blogging plugin), the buyer will be expecting non-unique content.

If you are selling blog with unique content, the buyer will be expecting unique content.

So, it depends on your selling angle. Just be truthful in writing your sales page title and content and the right customer will be attracted to it. And remember both titles and content must be congruent so that the buyer is not confused after reading your sales page on your listing.

If you are selling blog with unique content, you can use PLR articles as bonuses for Buy-It-Now buyers who buy it at the full price.

For a new blog, normally I have at least 10 unique blog posts and about 5 pages (contact me, privacy policy, video gallery, product and Amazon store page)

6. What is the best way to approach all the content?

This is a very subjective question and there are a lot of methods to approach content. It really depends on what you prefer to be most suitable for your business.

The easiest way however, is to engage some writers to create content for you. If you are getting the auto-blogging plugin, you need to buy the license to sell it and this cost around US$550. It is very costly to most beginners who have just started out.

7. Wouldn’t there be duplicates if everybody is use the same contents?

Using duplicate content is mostly a myth, in my own opinion. There are so many other factors which determine if a blog is ranked well for a particular keyword. It includes quality of links within the blog and to the blog. Other factors such as the meta tags, description and quality and relevance of your content are also important too.

It is true however that some buyers would prefer unique content blogs but I’ve sold many with content from article directories so I see no problem with this.

8. Do you need to have traffic already generated to the blog before flipping it?

If you are planning to sell the blog for more, you can generate targeted traffic to your blog.

However, it is not necessary as you can still sell new blogs. There is actually a technique that I and my students use to great effect for selling Brand New Blogs.

Thanks to the many question posted in my – blog flipping Ask Campaign. There are almost 90+ questions submitted!

I have categorized the questions into a few main parts and throughout these few days, I will answer these questions in separate blog posts so that it is not too overwhelming for you. Today we will be covering the basic questions and I hope to give you a good understanding of what blog flipping is about:

1. What is blog flipping about and how do you start?

blog flipping is essentially the selling of blogs. In our case, we build these blogs with the intention to sell within a certain time frame. There are basically 2 types of blogs that we flip; brand new blogs and matured blogs.

Brand new blogs has an advantage of taking less time and effort to build but usually will command a lower price. Matured blogs on the other hand will take time to build traffic and income before flipping and thus command a MUCH HIGHER price.

Flipping brand new blogs is the preferred choice for beginners because it is much easier to do and faster to see results. In essence, what you do is only 2 steps: Build Blog > Sell.

To start blog flipping, there are some essential things that you would need:

- a hosting account (always get a unlimited domain hosting account so that you can host multiple sites under the same hosting. This will save you lots of money)

- a domain which you can buy from godaddy.com (do not use the domain given free with the hosting account for the blogs that you want to flip, get a new one through godaddy or namecheap)

- paid wordpress theme (there are certain themes that have proven more sellable than others and I will share with you on another day)

- istockphotos (although these may not be 100% necessary, it would be good to have)

You will also need to sign up for:
- Clickbank account
- Adsense account

With these in place, you would just need to do the following:
1. Register Domain Name
2. Set up hosting
3. Install Wordpress
4. Edit and set up blog
5. List it and sell
6. Transfer the site to new owner
7. Rinse and repeat

2. Why do people buy unproven, brand new blogs and is it easy to sell?

There are basically 2 reasons why people will buy unproven blogs; usually they will see the potential for this blog to earn and would pay to take over your site and save all the effort (equivalent to outsourcing the entire blog development to you) or that the buyer has no knowledge on how to build a blog and thus will gladly pay for your done up blog that they can use immediately. There are a lot of people buying and selling brand new blogs on Flippa and since there is a market for it, it is in my opinion relatively easy.

3. If you build a profitable site then why sell it?

It really depends on your business model and your passion.

If you enjoy creating and designing new blogs and sell it, you can flip new blogs. The reason for selling usually boils down to one of the following:
• I’m broke and I need the money fast
• I’m raising funds for a new project
• I’ve lost interest in the project
• I just don’t have the time
• I build up online businesses with the express purpose of selling them
• I’ve taken it as far as I can and its beyond my abilities to grow it any further

I’ll be going into more detail of these in the report.

4. How can someone make BIG money flipping blogs?

BIG money can be made by treating blog flipping as a business.

If you are selling new blogs and if you define Big money as US$3000 per month, you can make this amount of money by selling 10 blogs at a price of US$300 per blog.

And you will need to sell about 2 to 3 blogs per week which is reasonable.

Alternatively, you can sell mature blog which is earning US$500 per month at a price of US$5000 or more. Thus, you can purely focus on building this ONE adsense blog for the entire month.

And if you have the resources, you can create 1 such adsense blog per week (4 per month) and have an online income of US$20,000 per month!
There are more income opportunities that I will reveal soon in the report.

5. I am a newbie and not technical inclined, can I do it?

Definitely! Like I mentioned before, blog flipping is one of the easiest way to start earning a decent online income for newbies. Of course that’s not to say that there are no skills and techniques that you need to learn but it is on the whole one of the most straight-forward business there is. I’ve taught quite a few newbies who went on to sell their blogs within a month (see testimonials/proofs) and I’m very confident of it. I’m actually planning a secret project at the moment and I will be revealing more information about it soon.

6. Are your instructions easy to follow and is high technical skill required to do this?

Now this is a very subjective question but because I’m not a technical person to begin with, I make sure that the things that I teach are as simple and easy to follow as possible. I often give step by step instructions to my students for them to follow. Of course a basic foundation or knowledge of internet/computer is helpful, high technical skills are not required.

7. Is it expensive to start and how much time and effort is required before I can see the $ coming in?

It is definitely not expensive to start compared to the many make-money courses or ebooks which you may be buying (I’ll cover with you a basic cost calculation in the report).

blog flipping is one of the easiest ways to make money and it is the most newbie friendly. I have students who take just 7 days to sell a US$297 blog. Others may take a few weeks to a month.
