Blog shops and websites can evolved into actual physical shops. In the previous interview, Sherine shared how she does that and how she managed her shop while taking good care of her family.

In this interview, another stay at home mom, Draik shared how she used the various free websites to set up her home business while taking care of her 4 year old boy.

>>>Start of interview>>>

1. Share with my readers who you are

Hi everybody, I am a stay at home mom with a 4 year old boy. I have discovered Cafepress in 2005 when I was still working full time. I had opened my first online shop, Keepsake Arts, with Cafepress when I discovered that I could sell my designs on t-shirts. I got addicted after I received my first cheque in my letterbox.

2. What business you are in and what is your website address?

I create designs to be printed on apparels and other products with t-shirt fulfillment companies. I have started out on Cafepress in 2005 and move on to Printfection, Zazzle and SpreadShirt later. I discovered Squidoo in 2006 which I think it is a good site to promote my products and affiliate products. I got addicted again when Squidoo started paying me every month.

3. How does having a website/ blog benefit your business?

Keepsake Arts website and blog bring all my shops together since different fulfillment companies do not like it when you link to a different shop. I will announce my new products and designs in my blog which my blog will then post the updated feed in my Facebook and Twitter. My blog, Facebook and Twitter reached out to different customers in different part of the world.

4. What motivates you to set up your own business?

Freedom is the greatest motivation. I can work as and when as I will like to and still get pay for it. During my pregnancy, I suffered from very bad morning sickness and have not turn on my laptop for almost 4 months. I still receive cheques in my letterbox. When my son was born, I had to take care of him and breastfeed him full time. I hardly had any time online but I am still getting paid.

5. What challenge you did face along the way and how did you overcome it?

One of the challenge that I faced was 99% of my customers were from US. I had to use American English on my shops and website. Some customers become skeptical when they realize that you are not from US. Brand names such as “Cafepress” and “Zazzle” from my fulfillment companies helped a lot in this case. Marketing becomes a challenge when I cannot promote my shops in local forums or send fliers in Singapore as these are not my target customers. It is also difficult to “fit in” in a US forum as I do not understand their politics, watch their TV shows or celebrate their holidays. I had to source for different ways and site to promote my shops. Squidoo is a good find, it pay me and provide me a friendly and helpful community.

6. How do you juggle your time between managing your business and spending time with your family?

A time table and lots of self discipline helps a lot. I work on my shops and get most housework done when my son goes to school. Night time and the weekends are for the family.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share with my subscribers?

Making money from t-shirt fulfillment companies is not easy. Your designs will be competing against millions of designs in their marketplace. The advantage of setting up an online shop with a t-shirt fulfillment company is that you do not have to worry about your stock, customer service, shipping or payment. Success will depend on your marketing skill and hard work.

In the previous post, I was intrigued by the many methods you can make money online. Pei Yu is selling her products on Facebook and forums.

Why do people sell products on forums?

Forums is a community of very targeted audience.

For instance, fish lovers like myself invest alot in maintaining our aquarium tank and the well-being of our fishes. So if a vendor who sells quality filters is to promote fish filters to us, there is a higher possibility that we will buy. Why? Because we are fish lovers and each of us have at least 3 filters and are always looking to buy new one to replace the old ones.

So, if you are planning to sell something, do not just stop at blogs. Facebook fan pages and forums are great resources for you to tap into.

In this new interview, I am delighted to have another stay at home mom cum business owner to share with us how she is tapping into website, Facebook fan page to boost her sales.

>>>Start of interview>>>

1. Share with my readers who you are

Hello everyone! I am Sherine from Singapore, owner of The Little Wardrobe. I was previously an Auditor. Decided to quit my auditing job due to the long working hours as well as the need to travel frequently when I was expecting my boy. In April 2009 I gave birth to my boy, Gregory. I then took up a job with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in June 2009 but left shortly to help start up business for my relative. I started up The Little Wardrobe store at Raffles Place in late 2009.

2. What business you are in and what is your website address?

I am in the children apparels and accessories business. The apparels are sourced from the United States of America and the United Kingdom to Australia and Korea, The Little Wardrobe takes pride in making available the latest in chic youngsters wear with stocks arriving every two weeks. My store is located at 1, Raffles Place, #03-10, Singapore 048616. My web store URL is www.thelittlewardrobe.com.sg, however we are more active and updated on our facebook page where most online customers purchase their items. Do search for “The Little Wardrobe @ OUB Centre” on facebook and enjoy fabulous deals and first hand information on our new arrivals and promotions.

3. How does having a website/ blog benefit your business?

Having a website allows me to promote my business. It allows customers to get more in-sights information on our store and products. As for our facebook page, it serves like an online store where customers can easily view the items available and place order by commenting below the pictures. Facebook is everywhere, on smartphones, ipads, etc. Customers can now shop with ease and convenience. I am able to keep track of my customers’ orders easily on my smartphone anywhere.

4. What motivates you to set up your own business?

I used to do trading of premium collectibles/toys via ebay and web as a hobby. However, I decided to go ahead with the children store after I gave birth to my son after realizing how much I spend buying toys, clothings online from the US, Australia and Korean websites.

5. What challenge you did face along the way and how did you overcome it?

The trade I am in is very competitive. The market is open. In fact, most blog shops and facebook stores actually carry the same brand/items. Retailers like us start cutting price to stay competitive, hence suffer thin margins as low as S$3 per item. I have rental to pay where blog shops don’t. That is the problem. We are limited by space as well. I wish to carry more brands, but my store does not have enough space.

On another matter, our facebook page currently has about 18,000 fans. I am personally facing the problem of missing customers’ comments, missing out customers’ reservation, tracking customers’ orders from Singapore Post, replying late, etc. Glad to have a pool of loyal and nice supportive and understanding customers.

6. How do you juggle your time between managing your business and spending time with your family?

I am very glad to have a good helper from the Philippines to help me look after my son while I concentrate on my work and my hubby’s store. I try to schedule time for my son’s enrichment classes which is currently 3 times a week. He should be starting daily classes a childcare centre soon. Not forgetting my staff, Helen from the The Little Wardrobe. She is a great help in the store and manages the store and facebook page while I’m overseas!

In the last interview, I have interviewed ex flight attendant who runs a successful internet shop selling maternity wear. In fact, anyone can start up an internet shop selling anything you want and as long as it satisfied a gap.

What is a gap?

A gap is an unfulfilled need of the customer. For example, stay at home parents have little time to do house chores and not having enough or trusted domestic helpers is a gap. And you can easily detect a gap when you belong to that specific group of customer and all you need to ask is what you are frustrated about. Which of your need is not met?

In this weekend post, I am thankful for this stay at home mom’s sharing. Her name is Pei Yu and she runs a successful internet business…Read on to find out how she does it and how you can too without the need to create your own products.

*Start of interview*

1. Share with my readers who you are

Hi everyone! I’m Pei Yu, currently a Stay-At-Home-Mum (SAHM) to my darling daughter who just turned 13 months. I’ve become a SAHM mainly because i need to take care of my daughter. I spent alot of time on the internet, especially now with the use of smartphones, I’m almost 24/7 online! I used to blog alot on my daily life, but after my daughter came into my life, my time mainly around her and I need to plan my time properly to juggle between my small online business and my family.

2. What business you are in and how does your customer contact you?

I’m mainly in baby and children accessories. My potential customers can find me in Singapore Motherhood Forum, where I put up my business there. From there they can reach me easily via email or private
message. Only recently, some of my customers added me into my facbook account, and they can now reach me via facebook too!

3. How does having a facebook account benefit your business?

By having a facebook, I’m able to “advertise” my new products which I’m going to order and to state all the necessary details on the products. Customers can easily view at them too, especially now with the use of smartphones, facebook is like with them all the time! So it’s not only convenience at my part, it’s also a very convenience online media for my customers

4. What motivates you to set up your own business?

Before I got married, I used to spree alot on Taiwan auction sites and US websites at other forums. This is where I learnt the whole process of logistics, from collating, ordering and to dispatching the goods. I really enjoyed doing this since i was still a student in the polytechnic. Although it may seems like a chore to others. Therefore when I’ve decided to become a SAHM, i joined their sprees and BP too. This is when i realised that i also can do something like this, and at the same time I could bring in new and unique products to my customers at a relatively more affordable pricing as compared to those that are sold in-stores. Secondly, it is the monetary benefit. Since I’m not a full time working mother, I would like to make abit for the family and myself. So i could help my husband on the expenses.

5. What challenges did you face along the way and how did you overcome it?

Storage is one of the problems I am facing now. I’m still staying with my mother-in-law’s and have yet to have my own house. Due to space constraints, I am unable to store my inventories in an organised manner. They are either piled at one corner of the room, or another corner in the hall. This is the reason why I only place my orders with my suppliers after consolidating my orders from my customers. This is known as pre-order sales. The disadvantage of this approach is the long turnaround time from my customers’ perspective. Ideally, I should have the stock ready before my customers place their orders.

Another challenge I always face is product and supplier diversity. Besides attracting new customers, I must also attract returning customers to sustain my business. Customers don’t buy the same products if I want them to return. I have to look for new products from other suppliers to offer to my returning customers. It takes a lot of my time searching through the internet for the right suppliers. Traditionally, importers like me have to meet the prospective suppliers in person, inspect their products, go through negotiations, before striking a deal. Meeting them in person minimise the chances of being a fraud victim, e.g. placing an order with a bogus supplier and the goods never arrive. Unfortunately, I do not have the resources to make such business trips, thus could only place small orders which I could afford to lose.

However, that’s beside the point. The real challenge is the establishment of relationship. Doing this purely online, i.e. instant messaging and email, is much difficult than meeting them in person. It lacks the ‘human touch’ of a business relationship. This ‘human touch’ is essential if you wish for a smooth supply-chain process and quality assurance. More than half of the times, I encountered delayed deliveries that resulted in my customers cancelling their orders, or receiving defective products upon arrival. To make my situation worse, the suppliers are unwilling to compensate my losses caused by delayed deliveries, or make it very difficult to refund or exchange defective goods. If this ‘human touch’ is present in our business relationship, the likelihood of such issues may be minimised to the lowest.

6. How do you juggle your time between managing your business and spending time with your family?

I usually reply my emails to customers when my girl is having her nap. In the evening, my husband will help out by looking after her while I attend to my emails. Other than that, I would usually wait till she sleeps for the night before I work on my computer

Most of my customers may discover that my replies to them over the weekends are made through my iPhone. My husband and i always make it a point to have at least a day out together during the weekends, and to bring my girl out to play! Hence, my iPhone is my best business companion while I’m mobile, as it helps me get hooked up onto the internet using 3G network and respond to my customers.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share with my subscribers?

Sometimes, I have other mothers who told me that they admire my capability of being able to maintain my own online business while taking care of my girl. I’m very sure you have hear of this very common Chinese phrase which literally means “Nothing is difficult in this world for he sets his mind on it”.

I have always been impressed by how resilient stay-at-home mothers are. It is not easy to manage a successful online business while taking care of their young children.

After becoming a father earlier this year and having to look after my baby girl, I can really empathise with these mothers. If the day is not planned properly, all the activities will be revolving around the kids. A typical half a day can start like this – making milk for the baby at 6am, bathing the baby at 9am, preparing for the next feed at 11am, playing with the baby at 2pm, feeding at 3pm and so on. Half a day is gone.

In an office context, it is equivalent to doing your colleague’s work and not being able to start yours.

So, in this interview, I am delighted to share the story of air stewardess turned stay-at-home mom. I hope you can learn something out of it. (This is another similar story of Dulcie who used to be air stewardess too.)

*Start of interview*

1. Share with my readers who you are

SAHM, WAHM, Full-time housewife! (Haha) Hi, I’m Vanessa. I am a cheerful mum with a 19 month old daughter. During my early 20s, I was a flight attendant with Japan Airlines and Silkair Airline. I stopped working totally while I was pregnant and during this period I opened an internet shop call Azure Maternity. =)

2. What business you are in and what is your website address?

As you can see by now, my shop specialises in maternity wear. Azure is my middle name. My aim is simple; Impact and X-factor. My clothes have to be classic and stylish that you will be proud of wearing them. Most of my clothes are selectively chosen and shipped directly from Korea, please be assured that once you receive the items, you will come back for more! ^ ^

Shop at www.azurematernity.com and add spices to your new wardrobe!

3. How does having a website/ blog benefit your business?

What can I say? Internet + Website = Customers and Sales! Having a website is wonderful, of course. You can shop 24/7, enjoy the whole collection of clothes at the ease and comfort of your home.

It serves as a medium for me to “communicate” with my shoppers.

4. What motivates you to set up your own business?

Frankly, quite like most other maternity shops, Azure Maternity was opened for the same reason too. It was hard finding really cool, really stylish maternity wear that goes alongside with the everchanging fashion. While I was pregnant, I shopped all around the maternity shops in my country, in the internet, I did thought something was missing from these shops.

Through my research, I decided to open an online shop. Objective is simple: Provide STYLE for the new era mom-to-be!

Happy Shopping with Azure Maternity!

5. What challenge you did face along the way and how did you overcome it?

Well, the biggest challenge I have faced is whether I have spent enough quality time with my daughter daily. Her need of attention increases as she grows older. I would spent time teaching her words, watching music video with her and playing her favourite game. Whenever she’s asleep or playing her toys, I would make use of the time to focus on my work. In this way, I won’t feel guilty neglecting her and at the same time I feel happy being able to manage my online shop.

6. How do you juggle your time between managing your business and spending time with your family?

Having a good time management plays an important role. I train my daughter to be independent; she could play her toys in her own room for a good 30minutes. I follow a strict routine, making sure I have time for my family, work as well as some “me” time.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share with my subscribers?

I am happy with my life and work and I hope you enjoy shopping with Azure Maternity. =) If you have any questions about your pregnancy or breastfeeding, please feel free to contact me. I’m more than happy to help! =)

Hi, I hope you have enjoyed my previous interview on a stay-at-home-mum who shared on how she runs her online business while taking care of her baby. In today’s interview, I have a stay-at-home-mum who runs a very successful blog shop which rents out children’s toys.

*Start of interview*

1. Please share with my readers who you are

I am Grace Tan, a Stay-At-Home-Mum (SAHM) to my 13 month daughter, whom I have decided to devote all my time to, after she was born. I made the decision to look after her myself as I felt that no amount of money could “buy” my time. I could always earn the money later, but no amount of money in this world can buy back the time I could have spent with my child in her growing years, and she is everything in the world to me.

It is also my responsibility to impart to her, values which she would take with her when she grows up. I am also passionate about “green” issues and aspire to bring my children up in an eco-conscious environment.

2. What business you are in and what is your website address?

I am currently managing Singapore Toy Rental, a home business specializing in rental of fun and quality toys at very affordable prices. Our website is http://singaporetoyrental.blogspot.com/ and you can “like” us on our facebook page www.facebook.com/singaporetoyrental to enjoy special deals and promotions as well.

We provide monthly rentals of toys as well as special party packages for birthdays and corporate events catered for children.

3. How does having a website/ blog benefit your business?

It helps us to update our customers promptly on promotions, new toy additions, and keep in touch with those interested in our business. It’s also a platform for our customers to share our business with their families and friends.

4. What motivates you to set up your own business?

When I was working, I was very involved in eco-friendly initiatives at my workplace. One of the many “green” initiatives we did was to set up a toy library where students, staff and public could pass on toys (which are still in good condition but not used anymore) to children in the lower income families.

During the collection process, I was amazed that we could collect a few thousand toys in a very short period of time. It then struck me that these still playable toys (which were bought with hard earned money) would have ended up in the incinerators if they were thrown away, instead of being “recycled”. It’s such a waste that so much resources and materials were used, just to produce these toys which could only occupy children for a very short period of time.

I told myself that if I am going to setup a business someday, I would do something “green”.

After I left my job and became a parent myself, I saw how many toys my little girl amassed in just a few months, and how long they could keep her interest! Some toys couldn’t even last a day! As a parent, I wanted to give her the best toys to play with, but at the same time, how could I afford to buy those expensive toys for her? Even if I had the money to buy, where am I going to store them? And what am I going to do with them after she is “done” with them? It was a struggle between giving her the best and the realities of life.

I am not sure how many little girls felt the same way, but when I was a little girl, every time we visited Toy R Us, I would ogle at those BIG, pretty Little Tikes playhouse and wonder if I would ever have one to play with! They were every little girls’ dream and seemed so wonderful to have! But, the reality is, they were just too expensive to buy and too bulky to store in a HDB apartment. So, nope, no way I am going to have one of those. But now, we can make that dream come true now, for many little girls!

That was how my business came about. I wanted to make every toy possibility come true for kids (and yet help parents go easy on their pockets in the long run!). But seeing how fast kids get bored and “dump” their new found toys and ask their parents for new toys, we hope to cut down the amount of “waste” generated by running a toy rental business. Why buy when you can rent at really affordable prices?

Singapore Toy Rental, is created for nature, for a greener future.

5. What challenge you did face along the way and how did you overcome it?

My biggest challenge was whether or not to start this business in the first place. I gave up my job to care for my daughter so that I can give her my 100%. I did not want to be a mother who is physically at home with her, but yet my mind and heart is somewhere else thinking about my business. What was holding me back was that I was afraid that I would be unable to juggle between my business and caring for my daughter at the same time. That would defeat the purpose of me quitting my job in the first place.

My supportive husband is the one who helped me to overcome this challenge by assuring me that my daughter would have more toys to play with, if I started this business. So ultimately, she is the one who benefits the most from this business. =) So, well, for my little girl, mummy shall work harder!

6. How do you juggle your time between managing your business and spending time with your family?

While she is playing on her own (I encourage independent play), I sneak in some time to check on my face book and emails so that I can respond to my clients promptly. For the other administrative work, I try to do my work only when my daughter is napping or after she goes to bed at night. That accounts for late nights and less sleep, but I’ll survive! I have been well trained by my baby for this (think breastfeeding).

7. Any other final thing you would love to share with my subscribers?

Firstly, I hope that one day, toy renting would become a way of life for most Singaporean parents.

Try spending a day with Singapore Toy Rental http://singaporetoyrental.blogspot.com/ Once you have tried it, you (and your kids) WILL love it!

Many parents are very concerned about the cleanliness of the toys rented. We would like to assure them that by renting from Singapore Toy Rental, they can definitely have a peace of mind.

This is because, as a home-based business, the rented toys will be returned to us and my child will play with them too. As a mother (not just the owner of this business), I am as particular about the cleanliness of the toys as any other parent. They can be assured that each of the toy rented out is cleaned thoroughly with a biodegradable disinfectant which is safe to use around children.

The disinfectant is proven to be 99.9999% effective against the H5N1 “Bird Flu” and SARS viruses, and eliminates MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), VRE (vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus) as well as harmful, illness-causing organisms such as Salmonella, E coli, (causes food poisoning) Staph and Pseudomonas (infections), Rhinoviruses, (causes colds), Herpes simplex (cold sores), Influenza (causes the Flu), Poliovirus (causes HFMD), Trichophyton (causes ringworm), molds and mildew, amongst others.

I think we are the only one who ask parents to declare if their child has just recovered from HFMD/chicken pox/ other sickness as a preventive measure. When the toys are returned, we will ask the parents to declare again so that we can decide to “rest” the toy for a safe period after sanitising it, before renting it out again. We will not compromise your child’s safety over a few dollars lost in rental income. This is our promise to our clients, as part of responsible and ethical business etiquette. =)

*End of interview*

If you want to contact Grace, you reach her at singaporetoyrental @ gmail.com or drop her a facebook message

In my previous interview, I featured an ex-flight attendant who became a stay-at-home mum to take care of her child. In this interview, I am featuring another work-at-home mum who started her online business which sells digital product.

*Start of interview*

1. Share with my reader who you are

Hi I’m Sarah Tan from Singapore. I am a Work-At-Home-Mum. The main reason is to look after my son, who is now 1 year old. The other reason is I really enjoy working by using my computer. I had been blogging since 2000, and decided to put my interest to use by starting my first business blog in June 2007.

2. What business you are in and what is your website address?

I am an Internet Marketer who focuses on creating video and audio home study courses to coach people on various aspects of Internet Marketing. My latest course is at http://www.ArticleCrankingMachine.com, where I train people how to produce 400 word articles in under 10 minutes, so that you can use the articles to promote your business, your websites, or even events.

Apart from product creation, I also focus on building websites at http://www.WebsiteCrankingMachine.com . I build websites for both people who venture into IM, and also for organizations that want to have an online presence.

3. How does having a website/ blog benefit your business?

Having a website allows me to promote my business. It is like having a sales page, where you educate your potential customers about your product, and at the same time let know how you can help them overcome their challenges. For my website creation site, it also serves as a portfolio.

4. What motivates you to set up your own business?

I really want to succeed and stay at home to look after my son. My grandparents owned a business, and were able to buy property and support all their children with their business. I wish to do the same using my skills with passion.

5. What challenge you did face along the way and how did you overcome it?

I am someone who loves to juggle multiple things, so focusing on something is something I need to do. Also, I decided to focus on my strengths, which is to teach, so I find that product creation is something that comes naturally to me. Picking up other skills to market my product is important also.

To overcome my problems, I learnt from 3 main people, Robert Plank and Lance Tamashiro for many of the skills in my product creation, and John Yeo for my website business.

Robert and Lance have very good systems that allow them to complete a lot of projects. One simple tip is to just focus on 4 tasks every day, and these tasks should lead you to completion of the project.

John is very encouraging and supportive and he is always eager to help people.

6. How do you juggle your time between managing your business and spending time with your family?

I am very glad to have my parents-in-law to help me look after my son while I concentrate on my work. I have also hired 2 staff from The Philippines to help me manage various aspects of my business.

I also schedule time with my son when I bring him for classes and back to my parents’ home.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share with my subscribers?

Success leaves clues, something which I had learnt from Tony Robbins. Go out and get a mentor who would teach you and push you to do things you are uncomfortable with, but necessary in order to take a big step forward. In addition, no man is an island, and always tap on a network of friends and associates to help you with your business.

Hi, in this series of interviews, I am sharing stories of local stay at home mothers who have successfully built their home-based online business. Our guest for this week used to be a Flight Attendant for Singapore Airlines and now she runs a blog shop selling skincare products. Her name is Dulcie

I got to know her and about her blog shop from my wife who had bought from her when my wife was pregnant.

As starting your business at home gets much easier with the availability of internet, more and more parents, especially mothers, preferred to work from home while taking care of their young children.

I really hope such stories can continue to inspire you that working from home with the use of internet is VERY POSSIBLE! – just like how many parents and I have done it.

* Start of Interview *

1. Share with my reader who you are

My name is Dulcie and I am 30 this year. I used to work as a Flight Attendant for Singapore Airlines for 5.5 years. Married in 2008 after being in a 10-year relationship. Shortly after, I got pregnant and have my 1st child, Troy in November 2009.

2. What business you are in and what is your website address?

I am selling branded skincare at discounted price. http://www.my-peau.com. I first started off with a blogspot: http://www.my-peau.blogspot.com after giving birth to my son.

Products are all 100% authentic as they are imported by respective local distributors. Misconception of running a discounted online skincare shop is that all items are old and near to expiry date, or unsure of the origins/source of products.

What makes My-Peau different is that we also carry latest products that are newly launched in stores! “What you can find in the retails, we can get them too!” Being able to get them at a discounted price, I was able to extend the discount to my buyers and make a small profit out of it.

3. How does having a website/ blog benefit your business?

Being able to reach out to people all over the country as well as overseas. Most of my local customers are mothers as well. During confinement, ‘we’ usually do not go out. Even after maternity leave, some would go back to the work force, leaving them only enough time to juggle work n family. Estores opens 24/7, Therefore internet shopping gave them the ability to shop at anytime they want.

4. What motivates you to set up your own business?

After giving birth to Troy, Hubby and I decided that I would take care of Troy at least untill he is about 1 years old. Therefore, I became a temporary SAHM (stay at home mom). At the same time, I wanted to make some pocket money for myself.

Being able to run an e-store gives me the flexibility controlling my time. Woman these days wants to be financially independent. Being able to buy whatever they fancy without having to ask from Hubby..

5. What challenge you did face along the way and how did you overcome it?

Challenges would mainly be the bigger players in the market. Very competitive prices, holding more brands and have been in the business for a long time. So I have always thought…what makes me different? Doing a one man show, I was able to “know” my customers, especially there are alot of return customers.

The experience is more personalised as I always reply to enquiries as soon as I can. Being in the service industry for some time, customer service is my top priority. I try my best to make my customers service experience a great one and winning their trust.

6. How do you juggle your time between managing your business and spending time with your family?

Managing my time between family and work has been easy. In the day, I reply to emails / update new products whenever I can while my baby is sleeping. Taking a chance to bring my baby out in the day for a walk by going to the post office to post out packages. My hubby is also very supportive and would usually drive me to collect stocks during the night.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share with my subscribers?

Thank you for visiting my website. I would like to share that I am in no way associated with the Brands of skincare I carry. However, rest assure that they are all authentic as they are all imported by the local authorised importers. You will be 100% satisfied with the items once you have received them!

* End of Interview *

You can check out Dulcie’s skincare shop at http://www.my-peau.com
and Facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Peau/110984642292317

In this new email interview, I am delighted to feature one of my mentors who has helped me alot in starting my Internet marketing business back in 2006.

His name is Stuart Tan. He is an excellent coach and he has been my role model all these while.

* Start of Interview *

1. Please share with my readers who you are and what nature of business you are running.

I’m a trainer and the Executive Director of Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group. I primarily do coaching and training of corporate managers and executives.

2. What motivates you to create your business?

We started in 2002 and have built a sizable business over the years due to a positive combination of teamwork. Our main desire is to empower and develop people in as many ways as possible ranging from children to adults.

3. Were there any challenge you face along the way? Please share one which almost stop you from pursuing your dream.

I think most challenges are there to test you. There’s no such thing as a challenge that stops one from pursuing a dream, unless the dreamer stops dreaming. We don’t stop dreaming. And it’s important that difficulties we go through make us stronger and more resilient, keeps us on our toes and learning. Thanks to a good management, we have had the opportunity to overcome a great number of challenges even in the recent economic crisis.

4. How did you cope then? What motivates you to push on?

I think the identity of an organization must be to create value in the world. The people running any organization must be closely aligned with such a mission, or else there is a goal but no desire to be motivated to move toward it.

5. If there is this one tip you can share with anyone who wants to start a business, what is it?

Don’t bother starting a business if it’s just for money. Focus on building a lasting empire. Quit jumping on short term opportunities because it is only going to get you killed. Build a culture that will outlast you, build a team that will surpass you, then get out of their way and learn to let go. Enjoy your life by doing things that enrich you, not things that make you rich, as the riches come when you are learned and educated enough to recognize that wealth is not about you alone.

6. How do you juggle your time between running your business and spending it with your family.

I don’t run the business. I let my managers run it. And they’re doing a great job. My time is put in adding value to people’s lives. That’s what my wife does, and we talk about how to do it in various ways so that we grow together.

7. Any current product or training you are have right now. Tell us more.

I’m in the process of building a series of readings on the topic of personal development through the lenses of NLP (neuro linguistic programming). You’ll get to know more about it if you follow me on Facebook.

8. Any other final thing you would love to share in this interview.

It is not the business that defines the person. It is the person that defines the business. Likewise, don’t let wealth or any other entity blind you from the fact that if you don’t shine, nothing around you will. Life is short, so play it smart by ensuring you are achieving wholistic success, not just wealth alone. It’s just sad to see people who are unhappy running their business. Sure, they are wealthy, but they never thought of being happy at the same time. Keep learning and growing so anything you do is merely an extension of who you are.

Hi, in today’s interview with offline niche experts, I have the pleasure to interview one of the pioneers in our local dating industry. Her name is Kloudiia Tay IIng and she has been using the power of internet to improve her brand.

* Start of Interview *

1. Please share with my readers who you are and what nature of business you are running.

I’m a Relationship Coach, Speaker and Author of “The 69 Love Notes – Secrets to a Loving and Lasting Relationship” and an ebook “5 Secrets to Up Your Attraction Quotient”. As a coach, I assist my clients, i.e coachees. to crystalise their goals, design strategies and break any dis-empowering patterns and habits to enable them to know how to develop resources to create and sustain positive changes to their lives, in particular, their love lives.

As a writer, I contribute articles to SDN (Social Development Network), and on my personal blog www.Kloudiia.com and dishes out one-time free email advice on my love coaching blog www.luvlifecoach.com/blog.

2. What motivates you to create your business?

After meeting so many singles when I was running my dating agency, I realised that many of them were not just missing out the opportunities to meet people. Rather, they lack certain skills, mindset and knowledge to attract someone and to be successful in dating and courtship. At the same time, the increasing rate of divorce in Singapore tells me that with such busy and hectic lifestyles that most of us have, many couples may not know that they have neglected their partner and taken them and their marriage for granted. I hope that they would start paying attention to what’s really important to them. Simply, I just want to help people find and develop the love and beauty in their relationships, and hence their lives.

3. Were there any challenge you face along the way? Please share one which almost stop you from pursuing your dream.

Singaporeans aren’t that receptive to relationship coaching yet, especially couples. To them, they feel that unless their marriage is already on the rocks and on the verge of falling over the cliff, they won’t think of seeking professional assistance. I’m sad to know this because usually by the time they’re willing to come before a coach or counsellor, it’s more to give themselves one reason to justify the decision they’re already made.

4. How did you cope then? What motivates you to push on?

Well, the desire to see people in happy, loving and lasting relationships just kept me on!

5. If there is this one tip you can share with anyone who wants to start a business, what is it?

Do something you’re passionate about. It is what will buffer you and lift you up when your business is down, and what will make you even lighter and soar further when it’s up.

6. How do you juggle your time between running your business and spending it with your family.

For me, my family is always my priority. So I divide my week into some days for coaching, some for writing articles and blogging, and the rest for my family. Of course, some time is left for myself, and God.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share in this interview.

When we focus and look for it, there’ll always be some beauty to be found in ourselves, relationships and our lives. Start on your journey now…

Thanks for the interview.

* End of Interview *

Today, I am pleased to have the honor of posting the email interview I did with a millionaire in Singapore. She made her first million when she was 26!!!

Coincidentally, she is the wife of my very good friend, Alva which I met in a Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner course 8 years ago.

While reading her replies and after exchanging a few emails with her, I learnt many positive attributes from this inspiring lady. One of them is she is really humble and she is really quick in agreeing and replying my email.

I hope you can too, as you are reading this post, be inspired by this young entrepreneur and follow your own dream.

* Start of Interview *

1.	Please share with my readers who you are and what nature of business you are running.

Merry Riana, Founder and Chairlady of Merry Riana Organization, made her first million when she was 26 years old. After graduating from Nanyang Technological University with a $40,000 study loan debt, zero capital and no network, she dived into a career in sales. Relying on pure determination, hard work and a positive attitude, Merry astounded her chosen sales industry by breaking many achievement records and setting new ones. In four short years after University she earned her first million dollars.

Now she is focused on inspiring and helping other young people achieve financial freedom and success at a young age. Through her training and consultancy services, she has touched thousands of lives and won the community’s recognition for her work and contribution. Merry’s alma mater awarded her the Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2006 and she won the Spirit of Enterprise Award in 2008. Her success story has also been a regular feature in many publications including The Straits Times, The Sunday Times, The New Paper and others.

In 2006, Merry launched her first book “A Gift From A Friend”, which became a bestseller in major bookstores in Singapore. Using her own story as an example, Merry shares how one can start out with less than nothing to achieve success early in life.

2. What motivates you to create your business?

While I was in University I started to think about my life more seriously. I saw how my parents needed to work hard even though they were already in their 50s, just so they could provide for their children’s education and save up for their retirement. That prompted me to want to achieve success early in my life.

I wanted to give them a better life. I wanted my parents to enjoy great food, travel to exotic countries and live life fully. Seeing as I was already 21 at that time and my parents were in their 50s, I thought that if I only achieved success in my 40s or 50s, my parents would be too old by then. I might not have much quality time to spend with them. And they might be restricted by their health and their old age to enjoy all the things that I wanted to provide for them. While I might have the time, on a personal level, to achieve success later in life; but the question is, can they?

So it was important for me to achieve success while I am still young. It wasn’t so much about me, but for my parents. Therefore, I made a resolution to achieve success before I reached the age of 30. That gave me a specific deadline of about 10 years to achieve my goal.

3. Were there any challenge you face along the way? Please share one which almost stop you from pursuing your dream.

Immediately after graduating from school, I was $40,000 in debt and cut off from any income from the student loan. I had to start earning some income fast; for my living expenses as well as to repay the student loan debt. I had decided to become an entrepreneur and do a business in sales rather than to take the traditional safe path of an employee. But I faced a lot of resistance for my decision, from my parents, teachers and friends.

My friends thought I was crazy when I told them about my thoughts of becoming an entrepreneur immediately after graduation. Some of those who were not close to me even thought that I was forced to become an entrepreneur because I couldn’t secure a proper job. While those closer to me knew that I chose this path because of my goals, they were also skeptical and tried to discourage me. My teachers, tutors and lecturers also thought that it was a bad idea to go into business based on sales upon graduation. Of course going into sales would give me less stability in terms of my monthly income. There was also no guarantee that I would be successful.

All of them advised me to pursue a more stable career in the engineering field instead. These opinions didn’t really bother me or deter me in my determination to do sales. After all, it is my life, and I am free to live it the way I want.

However, I still decided to get my parents’ consent for my choice of career. As I had expected, they were extremely uncomfortable with the idea of me wanting to do my own business in sales right after graduation and with a $40,000 debt to repay. They wanted me to get a stable job with a fixed income instead. After much persuasion, I eventually came to a compromise with them.

I promised them that I would only try out this business for three months. If at the end of three months there were no signs of growth or success whatsoever, then I would stop. I assured them that when that happens I would get a normal nine-to-five job with a stable pay just like what they wanted. They finally agreed and with that, I started my first business in sales.

4. How did you cope then? What motivates you to push on?

The initial resistance that I faced spurred me to want to prove myself even more. Of course it was not always smooth sailing. I faced a lot of rejections and disappointments. Being human, I had moments when I felt down and disheartened. But through it all, I never seriously considered giving up. What made me go on was my desire to provide a better life for my parents and the goals that I wanted to achieve. I’m also very fortunate to have had the support and encouragement of my husband, Alva, who has been my business partner since the beginning of my journey.

5. If there is this one tip you can share with anyone who wants to start a business, what is it?

When an opportunity appears, ask yourself these two questions: 1) What is the worst case scenario? 2) If the worst happens, can I handle it? If the answer to the second question is a “Yes”, then grab that opportunity. Then, with the opportunity in hand, you should move on to the next step of finding a mentor who has already done what you want to do and learn from them. Offer something of value to them first to convince them to mentor you.

If you have a proposal or project that can add value to them then they may be open to mentoring you. Later, you can even move on to the next project where there is greater involvement from both parties. And you can move on from project to project until you eventually become business partners.

6. How do you juggle your time between running your business and spending it with your family.

I usually wake up at 8 a.m. and then I will spend some time with my little girl before going to the office. When I reach the office, it is usually around 10 a.m. and I’ll conduct meetings with my different groups of staff. Once that is done, I will then attend to external appointments, meaning people who have made prior arrangements to meet me in my office.

I leave the office at around 4 p.m. and will usually go to deliver my talks in companies that have engaged me as their speaker or trainer. I get home after dinner and spend time with my loved ones. Thereafter, I start work again at night, either writing on my blog or answering e-mails from people who have read my book or visited my websites.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share in this interview.

I have one golden rule in business: Integrity. Whatever the cost, regardless of any implications or consequences, I believe I must uphold this rule without question. Without integrity, I believe there will be no firm foundation for my accomplishments. I can build my business to be as big and strong as I possibly can, but the moment I compromise on my integrity, the whole thing may just crumble down overnight.

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

My name’s Alessandro Zamboni and I’m an italian internet marketer.
My area of expertise is mainly blogging, including blog flipping and thing connected to blogs creation.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

My first success came two years ago.
After I was buying a lot of reports here and there, after a consciousness raising, I was tempted to leave and come back to my offline and kickass job, that was doing artistic candles.
Just the latest day in IM, I found John Yeo blog and reading about his blogging success, I decided to throw away other dollars tempting to do a coaching.

A blog coaching !

Well, after the first week passed to learn by John, my state of mind changed in the correct way.
I started to think like a business man, not a newbie internet marketing with $5 sales here and there and hundreds of debits.

Following his advices, I created my first blog, that I’m running again day by day.
It’s Blog In Da Box, an internet marketing news blog that now, after 1 year and half, has reached PR3, being first for many IM niche keywords.
And then I started to do new products, a few but sold very well.
I remember my first was Super Article Traffic, selling very well also nowadays after more than 1 year from release.

Then I invented the Blog Flipping, being one of the first to sell a ready made blog on Warrior Forum, when Flippa was not yet created.
And that was the key of my actual success.

In fact when I talked with John Yeo about my first blog flipping successes, I got another brand new idea, thanks to his suggestions.
Opening a Blog Flipping course, that we decided to create from zero, joining our forces.

But I will talk about that later.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

The major obstacles I found in internet marketing is that the majority of people is ready to open their wallet before telling you something, and that is a jungle.

Like in normal world, also in IM niche there are a lot of people able to suck your money delivering scarcity and not working ideas.
Before becoming a publisher and a seller, I was hijacked by bad people, able to tell you big lies.
And so I bought load of garbage.
But that, on the other side, make me even more powerful.
Nowadays I buy only a few reports, spending no more than 20% of what I earn.
And I got my products only on trusted sources, where users can comment and leave their opinion.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

Internet Marketing is a big lie and I’m fully convinced of it.

Why a marketer that is making 5 thousands dollars a day needs to take up $20 to sell his method ?

Because the real method doesn’t exist !
What I’m trying to say you is that you need always to pay attention to the situation.

You need to work, like in a normal job, to get money.

The solutions to be rich without working are all scams.

Knowing that, you can develop your own mindset, the mindset of a winner.

You need to be constant and follow your project until you will be a winner.
You will need time, don’t get discouraged if you are getting no results in first times!

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

The most lucrative launch of all my life is the one I did with John.
Our product is called Blog Flipping Bootcamp, and in 30 videos, with text transcripts, bonuses and examples, drive you in the jungle of blog flipping.

This product tell you all the truth to make money fast in the most easy way.

In fact nowadays I’m fully convinced that blog flipping, as well as site flipping, is one of the most easy marketing to follow, and it’s very easy to do money.

The first people I coached personally on blog flipping have sold a lot of blogs and have ebtered the flipping area as winners.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

Actually me and John decided to launch our new products, after some months in which I was fully involved in flipping ready made blogs.
I’ve got the strange ideas to help the shops of my area to exit from the big economic recession of the last time, and talking with John, we got a strange but phenomenal idea (as usual).

We planned to try an old style business with the power of blogs.
And so we created Offline Vortex, a new money making method available for only 100 persons (now 86).
The method consists in building a city shopping blog with all the shops subscribed, for a fixed yearly fee.

Following our idea, the e-book shows you how to build a blog from zero, how to make it ready to accept new subscribers, how to attract visitors only from the desired city and so on.

Doing online marketing for offline companies.

We were able to get thousands of dollars from this method, but we finally decided to let other people know our method, because is doable in every part of the world where there are shops.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

The best tip I can give you is the one to open a personal blog, where drive all your followers, now or in the next future (like I did with Blog In Da Box).
Never get depressed by IM, you have to get stronger to be a real money maker.

The first thing I recommend to newbies and people new to this niche, is trying to enter blog flipping, easy and cheap but good for earning the first money you can use to build your future.

And, last but not least, in case competition is uge on internet marketing, try to import it in your country.
Converting products from english to your language can be easy and lucrative as well !

Thanks John for this interview, I hope all your readers can crank out some to change their Internet Marketing experience !
See you soon,

Alessandro Zamboni

Hi, my series of email interview is BACK!!!

For this new series, I am interviewing local entrepreneurs. And the questions will be based more on “Mindset of Entrepreneurs”.

From my own experience, striving to be successful for online and offline businesses requires you to have a strong mindset.

* Start of Interview *

1. Please share with my readers who you are and what nature of business you are running.

[Violet:] I am Violet, happily married with two wonderful kids and I am a professional matchmaker.

2. What motivates you to create your business?

[Violet:] Well, I have my ex-colleagues to thank. While working in the bank, I realised that a lot of my colleagues were single and not dating, and I was quite puzzled as they were all eligible and attractive people. Upon further investigation, I realise that it’s because they were all married to the bank. At the same time, I realised that a lot of my friends were either getting engaged or getting married. Most of my friends knew their other halves at school or at university. That’s how I met Jamie, my then boyfriend, now husband as well. It then dawned upon me that when people ‘missed the boat’ of meeting the right one while studying it gets increasingly difficult for them to meet like-minded singles thereafter.

Coincidentally, at the same time, I came across the concept of lunch dating that has been popular in UK, US and Australia but nobody has brought the idea into Singapore or even Asia at that time. Having been active in community service since I was a student, I like the idea of this concept as it combines my passion for business with my passion of helping people.

3. Were there any challenge you face along the way? Please share one which almost stop you from pursuing your dream

[Violet:] Definitely. When you are a start-up or an entrepreneur, you will be spending most of your time fire-fighting as there is no SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for you to follow. There were many challenges along the way, but with the help of my partner who is also my husband, and the rest of my team, we were able to overcome these challenges one-by-one. I don’t think there wasn’t any challenge that stop me from pursuing my dream as whatever the challenge might be, I would strive to overcome it. We had a scare when the economy collapsed, and we just expanded to Hong Kong then. But with God’s grace and team work, we pulled through and managed to build up our presence in Hong Kong.

4. How did you cope then? What motivates you to push on?

[Violet:] I believe that it is normal to feel down and out. However, just do not dwell in darkness for too long. You have to pull yourself up and face up to the challenge. When Jamie and I set up the company, we set our vision and mission statement which I refer back to if I am ever in doubt of what we are doing. I believe that we are here to help singles, and along the way, we realise that this is probably our calling. I have been blessed with a loving husband, a beautiful family and I believe that I am here to help singles out there find the happiness that I have found.

5. If there is this one tip you can share with anyone who wants to start a business, what is it?

[Violet:] There are many ways to make money. Therefore, do not go into a business just with the intention to make money. Of course it is important for any business to be profitable. But if you do not have the passion for your business, you are better off working for someone else. Keep in mind, 90% of first businesses fail in the first five years. There are many challenges and speed bumps when you start and run a business. If you do not have the passion to fuel you through, you will burn out really quickly.

6. How do you juggle your time between running your business and spending it with your family.

[Violet:] With a lot of help and support! Contrary to what some might believe, I am NOT a superwoman. I can only be doing all that I am doing because I have a team of wonderful cheerleaders and supporters – my husband, my parents, my in-laws, my extended family, my helper, my team at work who help me pursue and fulfill my dreams. I make it a point to spend the weekend with the family. Thus, if I have to work on the weekends, I would take a day off during the week to spend time with them. One of the perks of running your own business is that you have time flexibility. If I take time out from work to spend time with them in the day, I can just make it up by working at night after they have gone to bed.

7. Any other final thing you would love to share in this interview.

[Violet:] There are many paths to success and personal fulfillment. The path of entrepreneurship is not for everybody, but if you have the passion to help others through what you do, and the determination and perseverance to take the path less travelled, I strongly encourage you to pursue your dreams and reach for your stars! All the best!

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

Hi everyone, my name is Elle Wong and I am an Internet marketer who currently resides in sunny Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. While I do various Internet Marketing activities for my online business, I’d say my forte is PPC, SEO and Product Creation.

If you’d like to get to know more of me, you can read about my background, dreams, personality, hobbies and Internet marketing ventures here: http://ellewong.com/about/

Or get in touch with me via Facebook and Twitter here:
http://facebook.com/ellewongpy
http://twitter.com/ellewong

I’d love to connect with you.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

I made my very first dollar online back in November 2008. But I’d say my first ‘real’ success in Internet marketing was between 15-17th June 2009 where I generated $14,747 online sales in 72 hours.

I’ve prepared a full case study for your readers on how it was done here:

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

One of the main obstacles I overcame was the ‘fear of losing my time and money’. I’d say I used to be quite a control freak and I wanted everything to be perfect and at no loss. As a result, this led to procrastination and well, nothing really got started.

As soon as I realized this mindset that was holding me back, my life turned around completely. Thereafter, I immediately hit the button to put my PPC campaigns to live. I lost some money at first, but I made more than quadruple the amount back through trial and error. I also started to outsource my work and learned to trust others to get the job done for me. Today I get more done… faster, easier, better and with less time and effort.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

Stop looking for the next best opportunity and just get the ball rolling. Instead of succumbing to what is being offered to you, learn ‘HOW’ they are being offered to you instead so that you can become a better marketer.

You’ve also got to TAKE ACTION. The truth is nothing happens if you just see there and read e-mails all day.

To be on track with your actions, use a mini-sized notebook to write down your lists of to-dos for the day. Each time you complete a task, cross it out in green. The ones that are not done, use a red pen to bring it forward to the next day.

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

I wouldn’t say it’s a product/service, but it is a blueprint that I’ve put very carefully together for my readers on how to create instant 5 figures from mini product launches:

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

I’m currently working on a $100,000 a Year PLR Mentoring Program with my partner Edmund Loh. You can view the full details here:

–> PLRmentor Access Link

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

Don’t be afraid to ACT towards what your heart desires

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

Hey everyone there! My name is Dennis Sim, and I’m proud to be from the sunny side of the world in Penang, Malaysia. I’m a college student cum Internet marketer.

Well, my area of IM expertise would be affiliate marketing. I find affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money online and require the least capital ($$) to kick-start my online business. I’ve also created a system for myself to capture targeted list and of course, to make unstoppable affiliate income as well. (I hate the PPC way :p)

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

I ventured into online marketing since Nov 2006. That was after I attended World Internet Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. To be frank, I didn’t make a single cent in the first few months. But until April 2007, my ClickBank account notified me that I made my first affiliate sale and I earned $4.96 in commission! Haha!

I know $4.96 is nothing to anyone out there, but it’s something to me! This $4.96 shows me that making money online is possible! From there on, I concentrate in affiliate marketing and keep on learning from other top marketers.

How I did it? Pretty easy… I got myself some PLR articles and compiled into a report. I create my own squeeze page and give away the report for free. And you’re right, my backend was promoting that affiliate program. Just drive traffic to my squeeze page and I got the money!

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt a lot from it

Being a perfectionist! I’m a perfectionist (till today) but I try NOT to when comes to business. Being a perfectionist is good because you want to make sure everything is good perfect to go. However, that will seriously harm your business.

Remember this, “Nothing Is Perfect”. If you always want to make your product perfect, it will take you forever! Because as I said, nothing is perfect, so how could you make it perfect? So, my advice is, when you think you product is GOOD to go, just go ahead! Then, you can keep on improving your product from time to time. Make sense?

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

FOCUS. Internet marketing is hard for ANYONE who keeps on looking for the next “opportunity”. This is the biggest mistake that most newbies make (including me when I started). Those who want to make money online, stay focused on one thing at a time.

Here I got a tip for you. Whenever you try something new, apply this principle. “Try Each Method For At Least 3 Times”. Let’s say you want to try affiliate marketing with PPC. Try one time, if failed, try again, and failed, try again! If really can’t make it, then only move on to the next one. If you make it, congrats! You’ve found your way to success!

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

All my products are unique (HAHA!). To be frank, I rarely launch new product to the market and I will do it if I think it’s good to share with others.

Recently, I launched a new program calls “List Nitro: Turbo-Charged List Building”. In this no-fluff report, you’ll discover how you can generate a responsive list of 5,000+ in just under 3 months (or 90 days)!

This foolproof system is simple, proven and fast. It works for ANYONE who uses it – even if you’re a complete beginner!

Currently the registration is CLOSED. But I’d like to give you the “Back-Door” access to all John’s readers here. Here’s the link: http://www.listnitro.com/backdoor.html. This is my way of saying thank you for reading my interview J

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

I’m not working at any project right. I’ve just released my List Nitro and I want to fine tune the product. As I said, focus on ONE thing at a time.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

If you want to make real money online, you must treat Internet marketing as ‘real’ business too. You must always remember that online business is still a business. You must put as much effort as you can in order to see the results quickly.

Let’s put it this way, if you take your online business as another “part-time job”, then you’ll make a “part-time income”. If you take your online business seriously, then you’ll make a “serious income”. As simple as that J

So ask yourself a question, “You want to make a part-time income or serious income?” You make the decision.

Thanks, everyone!

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

This is Patricia Lin from BestWebsiteDeals.com and I am an internet marketer from Singapore. I started my internet marketing career back in 2006 when I was in University and went full-time into it after graduation just last year. I must say that my internet marketing journey has been very fulfilling because it has got me featured in the local newspaper for affiliate marketing, on a local TV primetime talkshow for making money through my blog and basically started a whole new life after graduation for me. You can find out more about me at my personal site, PatriciaLin.com

Now, 3 years into internet marketing, I have established my IM expertise in the area of website flipping. Because the demand for services by internet marketers has always been high, I decided to go into website flipping to meet the demands of internet marketers who are looking to get websites created for their businesses, personal use and for investment purposes.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

My first success in internet marketing came in the year of 2007 when I went into affiliate marketing and took time to promote several profitable clickbank products as well as online services that paid out good affiliate commissions on some of the websites that I set up together with Calvin (my boyfriend). We basically set up keyword-rich sites and drove traffic to them and at the same time, promoted the affiliate products amidst the content that we posted.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

One obstacle which I overcame was telling everyone the business I was doing. Internet marketing was fairly unheard of back in 2006 and having to convince people what I did was really tough. But I have learnt a lot from it because it taught me the lesson – not to be afraid of chasing after my dreams. There will always be people who are going to try to stop you from going after your ideals, dreams and goals. Hence it’s important to remain focused and determined in achieving what you set out to do.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

Learning is a continuous process. You learn from both successes and failures. Do not be afraid to fail in the first place. Those who find IM hard need to reframe their thought process and should focus on only one aspect of IM that they are interested in. There is no point trying to be a Jack of All Trades – trying to pick up article marketing, SEO, blogging, affiliate marketing and end up confusing themselves a lot further than they were when they started. It’s important for them to know what works for them and what doesn’t and move on.

5. Share with us about the uniqueness of one of your products.

The individual websites that I create are my products. I have come up with PLR ebook products but none satisfy me as much as each of the websites I sell to the general public as well as to my private clients. My products are unique virtual real estate properties that are uniquely and professionally designed to reflect the importance of each niche. Each of my website comes with a ready system guaranteed to help one set up an online business that will generate them profits. In all my internet marketing endeavours, nothing beats having a website and investing in it because it is low in cost and reaps high revenue.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

One project I’m working on right now is WorkFromHomeSingaporeans.com. It’s basically a free IM training portal targeted towards mainly Singaporeans. It is meant to help Singaporeans be more exposed to the possibilities of working from home and the opportunities to do so with the use of the internet. The website was just launched earlier this year and we are hoping to develop it further as time goes by.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

Internet marketing will always be evolving but the fundamentals will be the same. So long as you stick to the basics of delivering good products (if you are a product creator/developer), providing good content (if you are a writer/blogger/content-provider) and providing good value and benefit to your consumers, you will definitely be able to establish a career within this industry.

Most importantly, follow your passion and success will follow you.

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

My name is Michael Lee and I’m currently living in
the Philippines. I specialize in the persuasion and
self-improvement niche.

My IM area of expertise is in copywriting, e-book marketing
and article marketing.

I have written sales copy for a number of reputable
personalities, including Ewen Chia, Kevin Hogan, and
Mike Mograbi.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

Back then, I was intrigued by those online people “getting 6
to 7 figures annually on autopilot”. I started researching,
visiting forums, and even asking famous online marketers on
the various aspects of internet marketing. Some were glad to
guide me in my journey.

Since I am quite familiar with self-improvement after having
read tons of books about it, I decided to create a product
in the self-help topic that fascinated me the most: persuasion
and influence. I thoroughly researched, studied, and tested
the deepest secrets of persuasion.

I created my main product entitled “How to be an Expert Persuader”
at http://www.20daypersuasion.com . It’s a course that reveals
how to easily and quickly persuade anyone to do what you want,
using breakthrough techniques on persuasion and conversational
hypnosis.

It is very useful whether you want to create satisfying
relationships, boost your earnings, and tremendously succeed in
your pursuits. People were very interested in the course, and
it became a massive success!

By then, I was doing internet marketing during my spare time
because I’m still a bit unsure if I should be leaving the
comfort zone of the corporate world.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

I remembered sleeping 3 hours a day and sacrificing my health
to attain success. (I don’t recommend putting your health at risk,
but I do recommend working harder than most people.)

Most people are afraid to get out, and are satisfied to be within,
the comfort zone of the corporate world; I’m not. I want to be my
own boss and pursue my passion.

It’s extremely difficult, but it’s all worth it in the end. I’m
now enjoying my work and have full control over my schedule.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

One of the biggest reasons why people don’t succeed can be traced from the
very evil word known as “excuses.”

I often hear various excuses. Some say, “I’ll try” or “I’ll see.” No way.
As Yoda said, “It’s either you do it or you don’t. There is no try.” To try
is to exert a half-hearted effort. It is such a weak word. In any endeavor,
you have to push yourself to the limit. Full steam ahead.

There’s no need to make everything perfect before you take action.
Perfectionists never get anywhere because they never start until the
perfect conditions are met. And since nothing is perfect, expecting
perfection is a waste of valuable time.

The important thing is to adjust along the way. The more you don’t start
doing something, the harder it is to get started. If your will to do
something is weak, it will get weaker and weaker until you finally decide
to quit.

Use the power of momentum. Take the all-important first step, and you’re
halfway done. Take the next step, and another, then another. You will
become stronger and stronger as you take more and more steps until you
find yourself on fire and on a roll.

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

My all-time bestseller is “How To Be An Expert Persuader” at
http://www.20daypersuasion.com . It’s a course that reveals
how to easily and quickly change people’s behavior and way
of thinking, so you can have it “your way.”

What makes it unique? It’s designed to help you become a powerful
persuasion expert, step-by-step, in only 20 days or less.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

I’m currently revising and adding a lot of powerful information in my
Expert Persuader Course at http://www.20daypersuasion.com. I’ve learned
several breakthrough persuasion techniques since I’ve last revised it,
and I will be including them in the updated version.

I will probably increase the price when this huge 2nd edition of my program
launches, but all customers who got a copy of the Expert Persuader Course
before the updated version goes live will get the 2nd edition for FREE.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

Never give up until you are absolutely sure that it is hopeless or unless
it is better to spend time on another pursuit. For beginners who want to
get their feet wet but do not have the capital, try Bum Marketing
(http://www.bummarketingmethod.com). It is an ideal method for newbies.

Once you make money and have enough confidence to earn more, re-invest a
portion of it in paid advertisements and outsource your article writing so
you may have more time in managing your business and less time doing manual
tasks that other people can do. Some of the great outsourcing sites
include elance.com, rentacoder.com, and scriptlance.com.

Thanks a lot,
Mike

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

My name is Fabian and I’m from Singapore…I’m known pretty much as a prolific article marketer and list builder in various niches. My areas of expertise are article marketing, list building and affiliate marketing.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

My first success came pretty early in my Internet marketing career. The first step is always the first sale. Once you can get that first sale, your belief becomes stronger and you start taking more positive actions to reach your goals.

I still remember my first sale – it was a $20 Clickbank affiliate sale. I used Google Adwords to get that sale and I was probably about $15 in profit, so I was pretty happy with that at that time. In the next few days, I started having $100+ days and I started to belief that there was really lots of money to be made online. So that sort of gave me that confidence to go on and work at things.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

The biggest obstacle personally for me was cash flow. I like to use a mix of paid and free traffic generation methods and the paid methods are all about how much money you can invest to increase your profits. If you put in $1 in a machine and it produces $2 every time, how many dollars would you put in? That’s a question often posed in Internet marketing courses and it resonates well with me.

So the thing I have learnt is to maximize your current resources and reinvest a portion of the profits into the business. If you maximize your resources, you have more cash to distribute back into marketing which increases your profits again. The secret to increasing profits is to improve the 4 major parts of business (number of leads, conversion rates, average profit per transaction, repeat purchases) by just 5% to 10% constantly.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

The biggest thing is to find out your ‘Why’. Once your ‘why’ is very strong, you’re on the straight line to success. If you find out the reason why you’re going into Internet business, and it is a very strong reason, you will then take lots of positive actions (studying marketing, testing, creating products etc) that will take you to your goal.

For example, a reason might to be quit your day job. Or working just a few hours a day so you might be able to have more family time. I personally find that the successful marketers are those who had a very strong desire to strike out on their own, quit their day jobs and build a real business.

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

I have a product called Article Insider Profits at http://www.articleinsiderprofits.com which shares my formula for article marketing success. It is not the usual article marketing product that talks about Bum Marketing. Instead, I talk about building a real business of your own on the back of article marketing.

Bum Marketing is more for promoting affiliate products, and I take that concept and turn article marketing into a part of a bigger whole, which produces greater long-term profits and brand name recognition.

So I feel that’s unique.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

I’m currently working on a few projects. One is the http://www.RealInternetEmpire.com program in which I personally build a list, risk-free. There isn’t a better ‘do nothing and build a list’ deal out there.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

Treat Internet marketing well and it will treat you well But seriously, the key is to really want it and desire it. Once you have that belief, desire and enthusiasm for Internet marketing success, you will find that you will be more focused, creative and action-driven.

Some bio:
Full name: Andrew Wee
Bio: Andrew blogs about blogging, affiliate marketing and social traffic generation at WhoIsAndrewWee.com . He is also co-founder of internet marketing resource site, InternetMarketingCookbook.com

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

Andrew Wee.
I live in Singapore.

Although some may think of me as a blogger, I am also involved in creating product, helped launched products and provide consulting to internet marketers, merchants and affiliate networks.

In addition, I speak regularly at industry events, including the Affiliate Summit, the largest tradeshow/seminar for affiliate marketers, and the Facebook Developer’s Garage seminar series.

I’m also a member of the Yahoo! MyBlogLog advisory board.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

Back in 2006, I had a conversation with a fellow internet marketer about doing a case study focused on earning US$1,000 within 24 hours.

I created a product over 2 days, covering the basics of affiliate marketing. I priced it at $9.97 and placed it online.

I actually didn’t make $1,000 in 24 hours…

I hit that in 12 hours. At the end of the 24 hour period, I racked up $1,500 in sales. Almost all of it was pure profit.

Things have been going swimmingly ever since.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

Being able to focus. With numerous opportunities available online, it’s easy to get sidetracked.

Here’s one dirty secret the “gurus” would have you believe.
Although it sounds fun to have 100 websites making $1 per day, the reality is the effort of maintaining that many websites, or avoid getting them blacklisted/spamboxed/delisted is pretty high.

So you’re much better off focusing on one, or a maximum of 2, major projects at one time.

Once you’ve stabilized that successful site, you can move on to your next project, or if you choose too, you can funnel off cashflow from your first site to fund your second site and take it easy.
That’s the way to create a passive stream of income.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

Internet marketing is hard only because most people are not willing to put in the time and effort to master their core business.
You’re familiar with the 80:20 Pareto principle.

Online, I think the 90:10 rule holds true.
10% of the marketers make 90% of the income.
You want to be in the 10%.

Too many marketers shortchange themselves by meeting the bare minimum – eg: meeting the bare requirement to fill up an ebook, putting in the bare minimum of time to get a project off the ground.
Bare minimum thinking will lead to bare minimum results.

Forget about reading blogs and forums, and spend more time on your business.

Do a time audit if you need to. If you find you’re spending 90% of your time reading ebooks, forums, blogs, or other non-productive activities, take it as a wakeup call to get back to basics.

A focus on taking action can only yield results.

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

I get many emails from blog readers about
a) setting up their internet business
b) growing their internet business from a few hundred dollars a month to something that they can actually live on

Because I can’t spend too much time answering every email (I follow my own advice and am focused on managing my business), I roped in a partner, Danielle Nagami from MsDanielle.com to help me develop an internet marketing resource site.

Danielle’s a search engine optimization (SEO) and linkbuilding specialist, who’s worked with some of the biggest merchants to achieve page 1 and 2 rankings for some of the most competitive keywords in finance.

The result is our “baby” – InternetMarketingCookbook.com which was launched on August 1st.

The site is unique because we’ve shared the techniques that we’ve used to build our businesses and it’s based on our own testing and optimization process.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

Besides the InternetMarketingCookbook, another site I’m in the process of developing is an affiliate marketing resource site. The launch date has not been confirmed yet, but it should be available sometime in late September.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

The one tip which will guarantee you success is the one that most people don’t want to hear: hard work.

If you’re focused on your goal (you have them written out, don’t you?) and are putting in consistent effort geared towards achieving it, there’s no reason why you should not be successful in your online efforts.

Readers can follow up with my projects at WhoIsAndrewWee.com and follow me at http://twitter.com/andrewwee

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

Hi there. I’m Desmond Ong from DesmondBlog.com. I’m currently staying in Kuala Lumpur. I don’t have a specific area of IM expertise but I am widely known as a site flipping expert, product launch expert and niche marketing expert.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

My first success took some time because I’ve wasted a lot of time making money through eBay. I started making the big pile of money when I started to get into the niche marketing business.

I was selling $97 eBooks and I was hooked when I started to sold a few copies in the first week.

I like to call myself SEO-retarded because I am simply too lazy to learn about the search engines and how to game it. So, driving organic traffic was definitely something that I was not good at. I managed to overcome that by paying for traffic through PPC.

That’s how I managed to get those sales for my eBooks.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

I think the worst obstacle that I’ve got is probably not having enough time to manage my online business. As I am a college student, it’s pretty difficult for me to juggle my social life, family, education as well as my online business.

I find that I could take good care of my time better as soon as I started using a to-do list.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

Action SCREAMS louder than words.

I’ve trained A LOT of people and given them A LOT of opportunities and most of them just gave up halfway because they don’t take actions and procrastinate too much.

There’s no way you will be making money online if you don’t take action. It’s like waiting for a free lunch – which is not possible.

I also think that a lot of people who think IM is hard like to blame other people for their failures. They tend to blame the gurus for their mistakes which is just stupid in my opinion.

They need to understand that for every mistake they made, they are learning something new – and learned how to avoid that same mistake again.

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

I would say the most unique product or service that I’ve ever created is probably my personal coaching program that is not for sale.

I worked really hard to train my students from zeros to heros because I can see the joys when some of my students called me up in the middle of the nights just to tell me they raked in $500 or so.

I pay very close attention to my private students because I want them to learn what they deserved to learn and guide them away from those so-called gurus.

I also have a product called The Site Flipping Code (www.siteflippingcode.com) which I created together with my business partner, Jani G from London. That is the first ever product where I actually partner someone else instead of developing the whole product myself. Also, I’ve spent countless hours to develop and test the product’s quality. So, I guess that makes it a unique product.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

I am working on a new product launch called The Niche Funnel System (http://www.nichefunnelsystem/) which is a gigantic course about effective and easy niche marketing.

I’ve seen a lot of internet marketers made the #1 mistake – not thinking long term. If you look at the top dogs in IM, all of them have businesses in information business or more particularly, niche marketing businesses AND all of them think long term.

That is how The Niche Funnel System comes into play.

This course will teach you about how to run a network of niche sites that can bring in 5-figure passive income just by following step-by-step instructions and skip most of the mistakes that most internet marketers are making.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

Just do it. Nike says just do it. So, just do it.

When I got started, everyone was convincing me that I was heading to the wrong direction – and I proved them wrong a couple of years later. If you believe in what you’re doing – I suggest you to just do it.

* Start of Interview *

1. Please introduce your name, who you are, which country are you staying in and your area of IM expertise

Hi everyone, I am Davion Wong and I live in the sunny island of Singapore.

My forte is niche marketing and article marketing. Currently ranked Top 50 out of 180,000 authors in EzineArticles, I have created a complete hybrid income system for traffic generation, lead capture and sales conversion.

Article marketing alone has brought in over 3 million visitors within 2 years and it is part of the system.

Another part of the system is my blog network as I own a growing network of WordPress blogs in various niches.

My company now markets in over 10 niches.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

I experienced my first success in Internet Marketing when I managed to build it from zero to a 5-figure monthly income within 12 months.

But it was not always rosy and the initial year, 2006 to 2007 was a year of hard knocks.

I had to learn from scratch and there was no kind soul to offer the help needed.

One thing I learnt was to stay focused. By staying focused, I worked on a single course of action, a single plan and was able to scale it up.

If I may add, my faith has been the primary reason and source of my strength when I face disappointments in the business.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

Never be afraid to try. Frankly, when I first heard about article marketing, I was quite skeptical and it took me a long while to decide to start writing my 1st article.

However, when that very first was ranked No.1 in Google out of 2,000,000 results, I was completely won over. That led me to scale up my article marketing efforts and I now have well over 1000 articles online driving 1000s of visitors daily to my sites.

The second challenge came when WordPress blogging caught on. Once again, I was faced with the challenge of learning something new.

But my article marketing experience told me that it is possible and well, I started and have never regretted the decision since then. Now, I own a network of blogs that continue to grow fast!

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

I know that a lot of newbies come online to “test” water. I was one of them except that I had the mindset of wanting to succeed.

This is very important as online marketing may seem difficult initially and with the mire of information overload, many newbies and even those who have been trying for a year or two give up.

Know your strengths and develop a simple to follow plan. Frankly, the first hurdle is always the first sale. Once you get it, you will get hooked.

Trust me, I have taught a number of folks, and one of more students told me that ever since he made his first sale, that totally broke his mindset that money cannot be made online.

Once you make your first sale, it is time to scale things up.

Now, successful marketers succeed not because they are smarter or what. They just follow a simple formula, if something works, scale it up.

So if you realize that article marketing works for you, then scale it up. Write more, submit more and outsource.

The important thing is to find something that works for you, improve and fine tune the process and automate it by outsourcing.

That is my secret to multiplying income streams.

If you need some help, contact me.

5. Share with us one product/ service of yours which you feel is very unique

I am going to be greedy here as I am proud of my products!

For those who seriously want to start making real money online, check out “Article Cash Robots” at http://www.ArticleCashRobots.com.

Since it was published in Oct 2008, thousands of this complete article marketing blueprint have been sold.

This is a complete list building system that takes you through the A to Z of building a 10K list that you can continue selling to. It’s truly Push Button cash!

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

I am concurrenly working on 2 projects.

The first one will be ready in Aug. There will be a soft launch only. It is a membership site where I show anyone how to build a 6 figure income from scratch.

The membership provides the training material and 2 income streams – Fast Track Profit Packs and Turnkey Businesses and is a highly affordable membership.

For those who are totally lost or not making enough money, this membership could well be the key to it. It is perfect for newbies and experienced marketers alike.

The second project is a mega-scale project. Here’s a sneak peek:

If you have heard of SENuke, SEOBruteforce and Mass Article Control, then you will be awed by this mass domination system I am building.

It is a complete submission, link building and traffic generation system that automates all these.

Now, I have been hearing folks complaining about these high-priced “toys” and so, when it is ready, I am going to offer it at a reasonable pricing.

My desire is to make sure that even the average guy can afford this software and finally be able to make some serious income.

So watch out for it!
