In today’s module, I want to talk about Publishing of Content & Hyperlinking the Text.

- Go to WordPress dashboard

- On the left sidebar, go to “Posts” >> “Add New”

- Enter content

- Choose categories (or add new category)

- Add tags (also know as keywords – see keywords selection)

- Hit Publish or Change date for schedule posting and click Schedule.

- Highlight any word with your mouse

- Click on “link” (just above the text area)

- Enter the website addresss (http://xxxx.com) and Click on “ok”

- If you are keying affiliate link, you can hyperlink one keyword (related to your niche) at the end of the last paragraph so it sounds natural for someone to click on the link in order to find out more.

Question: how do I access the plugins?

>> Watch the video below on how to install plugins:

- Go to the WordPress admin dashboard.

- On the sidebar, go to “Plugins” >> “Add New”

- Enter the name in the search bar

- Once you find the right plugin, go to the right (under Actions) and click on “Install”

- There will be a window pop up. Click on Install.

- Then, you will see “Activate Plugin” in a new page. Click on it and you are done.

- Repeat the steps for all the plugins installation (except 5. Dagon Design Form Mailer )

To transfer this file, you need to

# 1) Download and uncompress dd-formmailer-wp.zip with a free FTP
# 2) Upload the entire dd-formmailer directory to your WordPress plugins directory
# 3) Activate the plugin

Note: Every plugin will have its step-by-step guide in their home pages on how to activate them, how to edit their settings.

So I will not be repeating it as the purpose of this blogging series to for you to have an overview of setting up and having your blog live within the shortest time.

I stutter. So I don’t talk much. I go straight to the point so you get the key concept and so do I for my blog posts.

In this post, I wanted to talk about “Choosing of Domain Name”

Recently, I walked past a shop which is available for rental. It says

“To contact the owner, go to his website at http:www.91XXXX.com”

Basically, it is a series of numbers and the owner expected anyone to remember it.

Most domains make no sense.

If I have a domain 917me.com and I sell books, does it really make sense?

Or does royxx917.com tell you that it sells toy car models?

So domain names are very important. It is same as the name of your brick and mortar store (if you want to do business offline)

Recently, in Singapore, I have been seeing this ad with the domain name displayed. It says “CatchCheatingSpouse.com.sg”

I am sure you can instantly know the nature of its business.

So in short, your domain name got to have the keywords.

If your blogs are promoting “weight loss” affiliate products, your domain should be “HowToLoseWeights.com”

If you are selling hair treatment products, your domain name should be “TreatingHairLossNow.com”

Here are some resources you can get your domain or check its availability:

Remember the keywords you found in “Choosing of niches“?

Where can you choose a niche?

You can choose from Clickbank.com marketplace

*DO NOT choose a make-money-online niche! This is always the
BIGGEST MISTAKE for new bloggers.

Once you have chosen a niche which you like, you need to find the keywords
which the site is targeting.

One of the best free online tools is Google Keyword Tool. Just insert the whole
domain name into the search bar and the tool will create a list of relevant keywords.

If you want to find if the keyword is profitable, just check the advertisers competition.

Another free website resource is Spyfu.com

If you are really new to blogging and this is your first time doing keyword research, bear
in mind you have to find the right keyword.

The right keyword will bring you the right type of traffic which may or may not
buy from your affiliate recommendation.

In our Blog Maintenance programme, we always create a list of at least 200 keywords
for one niche and we will always research on 3 to 5 niches at a time.

That is a total of 600 to 1000 keywords! And can be really
overwhelming for anyone, including newbie bloggers.

You may spend a week to 3 weeks to find the right keyword. But with experience
or with experienced bloggers like us guiding, this normally take a day or 2.

Make sure you find the right keywords and you will be on the right track. (Otherwise,
you may find yourself going back to square one.)
