It could be simply being able to talk to your parent more.

I know this is a special day for all mothers. In fact, 365 days should be Mother’s Day because ever since our baby girl was born, I have personally experienced that taking care of a baby from day 1 is NEVER easy!!!

I had sleepless nights; I know all mothers had.

I had been wanting to provide her the best; I know all mothers want this.

I know it is not easy. Being a stay home mom (or dad) is very challenging!

Everything we do revolves around the little angel.

I am very impressed when a subscriber, mother of 5 told me how she still have personal time for herself.

Wow, I have one child and my world spins around her.

I am proud to introduce the new John Yeo Blog. “Wohohoho!!

My blog has a fresh look and it is inspired by family members, my wife and baby…I started my blogging business a year and a half ago so I can be a stay-at-home-dad just to take care of my girl.

I just wanted to remind myself of the purpose of my business whenever I read or write in my personal blog. And that is why you see the many lovely pictures of my family.

One of my mentors have taught me to always remind yourself the purpose of making a difference in your life. If there is no strong reason to live our life differently, we going to be like any other normal human being who follows a daily routine of working, sleeping and working.

And once you have found your special reason to make a difference to your own life, you need a daily reminder. It can be a mind-map of your goals pasted in your bedroom. Or if you are doing it for your daddy who you have loved so much, you may want to place his photo in the living room of your house so you can always be reminded of him and your direction in life.

As for me, I choose to have my family photos on my blog so I can be always reminded of my purpose.

My first day as a daddy…. >.<

My Baby Girl! Happy Birth Day!

After spending 2 days in hospital, I felt quite tired. Our baby girl was born yesterday in the morning.

Looking into her eyes, I marveled at how her pretty she is, how serene she looks and how cute her cheeks are.

I started smiling at her, singing her “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” & “Happy Birth Day” as how I had sang to her when she was in the womb and without any conscious effort, I felt my eyes become teary.

This innocent little face is all my reason why I have started my online business.

1 year and 9 months of intense hard work and many sleepless night flashed in my mind.

While carrying my little one, time stops. So does my heart beat. My world seemed to have centered around her.

No word can adequately describe how I feel being a father and there is no way to understand it until you experience it. It is simply a miracle.

and at the same time, confident, carring and always protective over its offspring
and family members.

When I have decided to invest in my online business, there is only one reason
which made me decide.

In running a business, there is so much ups and downs and we really need a strong
conviction for us to stay on and keep on fighting.

My only one reason is because I want to be a stay-at-home dad to to look after my children
and to spend as much time as possible with them by being a house husband.

I think this reason is good enough for me to fight for who I love.

This new year is going to be a really joyful one because our baby girl is
going to be born very soon, possibly within the next 3 to 4 weeks.

I am really excited. My wife too. And this is going to be our first child.

Even before she is born, I feel that at many times, I am worried about how
she is doing inside the mother’s womb – whether she is kicking or moving
at all.

I am worried for her everyday, day and night. Now I understand this saying
“One will not be able to really understand the worries of parents for their children
until one becomes a parent.”

If you are a parent with your own kids, you know what I mean. :p

Honestly, I really need the blessings from everyone I know and who knows me
to my new baby.

Meanwhile, I also want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a
happy and prosperous new year.

And stay healthy…and with abundant health, then you can forge forwards to fight for
what you want and for who you love.

For me, I will be counting down a day at a time till I see my little girl born.

So, all shoot…suddenly I forgot I have yet done mine.

So as you know, it is another 2 more days before we can say Bye-bye to
2009 and welcome 2010 with open arms.

Inevitably, time is passing through us as we speak and we can’t stop
time. “We are now another year older… :p

Ok, every post should have a learning point.

So what is the learning point for this post?

If you have only one minute to spare, you should get a dreamboard
done for yourself.

In a dreamboard, you note down what dreams or goals you want.

If you are new to this, you can start off with asking yourself
what you want to achieve for:

1. family
2. spouse/ significant other
3. health
4. skill
5. spiritual
6. business/ career
7. luxury

For a start, you can begin planning what you want for the first
3. Personally, I believe that a family must be happy so you can
focus on your carreer or building your business.

And health (in my opinion) is the most important wealth you have
right now.

“I still remember being unwell last week and I couldn’t get anything
done.

In the past, I don’t really believe in dreamboards. In fact, I find that
it is a complete waste of my time.

It was till when I started doing it for my business. I began to accomplish
some of my dreams while others are in the process of being fulfilled.

The benefit of having a dreamboard is that it keeps you FOCUSED!

You got to refer to it and you are Focused on what you really want
in this year (a one year time frame)

From now onwards, there is going to be major changes in how I manage my team.

Being really busy for the past one year has been really overwhelming for us. In order to keep every team mate, including myself sane mentally and emotionally, I have decided to do a restructuring.

Question: Why have I come to this stage?

As you know, I am also working full time. Now I have a family and I want to spend more time with my family members. In the midst of busyness, I started to feel really drained and I really need a breather.

Being a team leader is also not easy. I have to constantly read other marketers’ blogs, ebooks, materials, forums to learn more about marketing techniques and I have to be constantly updated. There is a constant need to upgrade one’s knowledge and skills. There is a constant need to meet new people and joint venture partners. There is a constant need to make sure you, my subscribers are well-taken care of.

Question: Tell me how will you plan to move ahead.

I will be focusing more on relationship-building with partners as well as making sure my subscribers are well-taken care of.

There will be more contests for free giveaways so that it motivates you to move forward. I will continue to blog about useful content to motivate you too and at the same time, you get to learn new things. I will also be looking for useful products for you like wordpress themes for bloggers or Jaz Lai’s recent new product – Inbox Cash Blueprint.

As for my team mate, Ben, he is the guy who is taking care of technical stuff such as html, webpages, domains, linking up of web pages, emails drafting and autoresponder management.

As for my third team mate, Andrew, he will be doing more of management and upkeeping of our new blog membership site and taking care of our subscribers for this site. He is also well-versed in programming and will be helping us on that as well.

Create your own personal route

I know it is not easy to venture into internet marketing but the rewards can be very encouraging as you realised one day you are able to leave your office and work from home just for yourself and your family. Not forgetting you get to spend more doing things you love and spending more time with your family members.

- Keep a look out for those who can help you
You should constantly be on the look out who you think have the skills to help you. Do not partner with someone just because he is your friend or you can’t say no to him.

Look for someone with good attitude and is willing to learn. Start off with short term projects lasting for 1 to 2 months before committing to big ones.

- Keep a look out for your own health
I really do not encourage you to work 24 hours a day. It is going to drain you and soon without the energy, there is most likely to be an end to your dream.

Set aside 4 to 6 hours a day just for your online business and spend the rest of the time with your family members or doing things you enjoy.

This is important to sustain you and your business for the long term.

- Keep a reward for yourself once in a while
You know what is my greatest weekly for telling myself I have done well for the week?

It is a simple cup of English tea – “Teh Si Siu Dai”. It is in dialect meaning, tea with condensed milk and less sugar.

I feel very satisfied. What I want to say is you got to reward yourself. It need not be expensive stuff. It can simple things like your favorite food or drink or a swim or a tan at the beach.

By the time this post is published, I could have gone for a swim. It is weekend man! Time to relax.

You can take action right now and…

They can be bloggers, forum senior members, website owners, product creators and so on.

Find where they linger and watch the content they revealed and learn from them.

The next step could be dropped them an email to ask specific question.

In a few days’ time, it will be my 3rd year in internet marketing and I want to share my experience in this blog post.

This blog post is not about how much money I made or how I made my money.

This blog post is about myself, my true self as a human being and how my adversity in my life had given me strength to be who I am today.

This blog post is about my mindset and how it has successfully shaped my destiny.

I am a mild stutterer and still is. No point hiding it. I am a human after all.

Yes, I have my adversity in my life and it is not always that my life is smooth.

(If my life is smooth, I won’t be where I am today.)

If you are not aware of who a stutterer is, a stutterer is someone who will at times may not have a smooth speech and for myself, I tend to repeat some syllabus before being to say the whole word.

It is largely due to my anxiety which I can’t manage really well.

(Different stutterers are unique and they have different speech difficulties. And do you know that 1 percent of the world’s 6,000,000,000 population stutter.)

In this post, I am going to share how I being a mild stutterer has shaped who I am today.

In these many years of struggling to be my real self and being successful in my own rights, it has been a roller coaster ride for me and I must admit there are times I was almost defeated by the immense obstacles and burdens I have laid in front of me and upon myself.

Some times I am laughed at. Yes, it does make me feel bad and inferior and I do cry at times (mostly at nights), asking myself why is it so unfair to me. (I am a human after all)

It was literally like my endless fighting with no sense of hope. I was on the verge of giving up at many times. I just couldn’t see where I am going.

Wondering if you have ever felt this way before?

I am always “hoping” one day when I wake up, my stuttering problem will miraculously disappear and I will be able to speak smoothly.

Fat hope! :_(

As you know, it never happens. I still do stutter at times and it was lately I have come to an acceptance that it is here to stay with me.

How did stuttering help me end up where I am today?

To set the stage right, I am just like any other person, just like you and me.

I am lucky to stutter since I was age 14 when I lost my father.

Do not be shocked why I defined as having a difficulty in life makes me lucky.

When I was much younger, I froze while queuing up, unable to make orders of what I wanted. I would always order food which I felt I can pronounce.

One day (after 8 years of stuttering when I was 21), I made up my mind that this shouldn’t be the way.

Yes, I do have this adversity but do I have to let it dictate what I want in my life?

I made up my mind…it is not going to be this way.

I have also set my mind to owning my business and retiring by the age of 35…so that I do not need to go for any interview and find myself stuttering throughout the interview. (The panel may have found me to be some “weirdo”)

Anyway, what I want to say here is anyone (including us) will have to face some adversity at certain point in our lives.

Some of us may have physical disability. Others may have emotional ones.

Some of us may have fears and worries. Others may have phobias that haunt you every day.

Yes, we can’t control our past but we do certainly can control the present and how we perceive ourselves in the future.

I know it is not easy.

Back to my stuttering, I can make a choice.

Either cower in fear and always feeling myself as the poor victim, always being beaten by the ghost in me.

Or stand up, face my ghost, focus on my strength and strive forward with my head held high.

The difference maker is we stand up and fight.

Will you stand up and fight too…with your head held high?

Who you want to be? It is your choice.

money. One thing that strike me most is they are willing to think out
of the box.

I know taking action is important…but if it leads to nowhere, with no
structured, proven and planned strategy, the time and effort invested
can be quite pointless.

The marketers who are successful do extensive reading and spend more time thinking and analysing….

I feel the thinking process can be structured in this manner (and if you
find thinking out of the box is hard, this post may help you.)

1. find a success story (there are plenty in the Warrior forum)

2. ask yourself what this marketer is doing right

3. ask what did the marketer do specifically to convince the buyer pay for the product

4. name one way you can further improve this method (this will be a test of how much you know or how extensive you read)

5. where else can you share/ discuss your idea so that it evolves (do you have a group of like-minded friends who can bring your idea to a greater height? And you grow in the process)

Personally, I do most of my time thinking and reading and talking with my mastermind group.

To be able to learn more and improvise on the methods, what you need
to do is to invest in your own learning, have an open mindset to learn more
and share what you know.

Arm yourself with these mindsets before you start creating your own
products that can sell.

I think it is a personal choice, we can be any other marketer or someone
who has a unique marketing strategy that can continuously deliver.

It is a personal choice – and the choice is to think out of the box and invest in your own learning.

Hi, I think since I am running a series of interviews on Internet marketers, I think it would be good for me to share something too. =) Hope what I shared can really benefit you in one way or the other…

So here you go…

My name is John Yeo and I am a wedding blogger residing in Singapore. My area of expertise is in blogging, market strategising and coaching.

I am more associated with blogging and well-known for my “no fluff and no bluff ” personal style.

I am a strong believer that anyone can succeed as long as they are willing to do whatever it takes to make it work. You see, each of us, including you, possesses a unique strength and you can leverage on it to become successful. That is why I go into coaching.

In addition, I like to keep things simple and sweet so that my customers can easily understand what I want to say. This goes the same for the products I create. I feel that most info-products are not detailed enough for readers to easily follow and others could be quite long-winded. We already have so many things in our mind and it will definitely be helpful if the info products are simple and sweet.

2. Share with us your first success in Internet Marketing and how did you do that

I started my wedding planning blog while I was planning my wedding. It was a good avenue for me to vent my wedding frustration. Haha…all grooms need these as managing your own wedding can be really very stressful. :p

My first earning came in when I earned a few cents from Google Adsense. It was a thrilling experience despite the small amount.

My subsequent success came in when my wedding blog started receiving more traffic and more advertisers approach me to ask to place their ads on my blog.

In my internet marketing journey, I have always abide by these 3 principles:
1. build strong relationship with your joint venture partners and advertisers
2. brainstorm with my partners on new ideas on how to scale my business once a month
3. create new products/ services to better the lives of my customers

It sounds like a lot of things to do. Yes, indeed it is. But by doing all these 3 things, your business will definitely succeed. Most internet businesses fail because they fail to bond with their partners. It is also important to create value for your customers and the money will naturally come later.

3. Share with us one obstacle which you have overcome and you have learnt alot from it

The first obstacle I face in Internet marketing is I tend to overwork. I am a workaholic. There was one time my health got affected and I was experiencing chest pain. It was not easy for me. It was then I started to be more aware of my own health.

The second obstacle is that I have been a mild stutterer for my past 10 years. It posts as a challenge for me to network with Joint Venture partners in social gathering events. It had never been easy for me to share my ideas infront of a group of people. It can be really daunting and fearful at most of the times.

However, I never let my weakness prevent me from meeting people and getting to know them. Now I can say I have improved and still doing my best to cope with my anxiety and stuttering. It is not easy but as we know, being a successful entrepreneur is not easy too. Sooooo…I will just do my best.

In fact, what I want to say is that each of us has a weakness or two. And it is really up to us if we can move on with our lives and leverage and focus on our strengths. It is not easy but it is not impossible. If I can do it, you can too.

Other obstacle I had was I was I had to juggle my time between a full-time job and my online business. I had to work from 9am to 6pm. After a quick dinner, i resumed work at home working on my online business from 7pm to 2am almost every day. It was not easy and it took a lot of persistence from myself and support from my wife for me to pull through. I also have to learn to balance the time between managing my business and spending time with my family.

4. Share with us one mindset tip you would like to share with others, especially those who find IM hard

I would like to share with you 3 important mindsets (instead of one) which I feel all internet marketers should have. I believe it is your attitude, commitment and passion. Start off with your passion as it will keep you burning after you feel burned out. Your positive attitude will keep you committed to attaining success which you have planned.

5. Share with us about the uniqueness of one of your products.

In mid 2008, I started documenting my success stories in my first product. It is called Bloggers Paycheck which is my personal step-by-step blueprint and I record everything I did to reach my first 4 figure monthly income by tapping on the million dollar online advertising industry. I prefer my blogging guide to be straight forward and easy to understand.

6. One project you are working on right now and you would like my readers to know

Right now, I am working on a joint venture contest for my latest product ProductWealthSecret.com. This product teaches how you can easily create a product with zero experience and still able to build a profitable business from your home. As we speak, we are also striking joint venture with more partners of mine.

In addition, I am also working on a blog membership site to better serve my subscribers. We decided to do this after we have tons of feedback from our customers that they want a blog membership site which they can become a paid member and get regular updates and lessons on blogging.

7. One last tip you want to share with my readers

I think the main obstacle for any newcomer to this field is information overload. There is just too much information available. Thus, this is where they get easily lost or they get easily distracted by the vast number of opportunities to make money online.

In addition, most see internet marketing as get-rich-fast scheme. And they soon give up because they feel they are spending too much time and not seeing any results.

What I can suggest for new comers is that they must willing to put in consistent daily actions. The keyword here is “consistent”. It does not matter how many hours you put in a day, be it 3 hours or 8 hours. Just make sure you put in enough hours daily and work towards your dream. If he is not ready to spend about 3 to 4 hours daily on his business, he is not ready to start yet. And give yourself 5 years period to build your business. It is a business afterall and time and effort have to be invested.

To your online success and remember – you are always in control of your own destiny!

I must say I had a really good experience last week. After blogging about how I have been using Twitter, I am surprised to be contacted by one of Strait Times (a local newspaper in Singapore) technology editor for an interview on how I am ranked as #5 top Twitterers in Singapore.

It was kinda of good exposure and I have never thought of using Twitter can get me an interview from Strait Times.

It was like free press release for me and I am really thankful for the editor, Weizhen for giving me such an opportunity.

The coverage was very little compared to our local top twitter Xavier. It was about 4 lines long in the newspaper.

Of the other three top Twitterers, one is a social worker and two, Internet marketers.

Social worker and avid blogger John Yeo, with 5,676 followers, said he joined Twitter mainly to share blogging tips.

Many friends asked me if I was disappointed. I guess not as it was really a good and pleasant experience to go through. How many of us get to be interviewed by the press for being in the field of internet marketing?

My history of Twittering is I started last year around June I think. It was till December 08 that I got serious in Twitter as most of my close friends (such as Dana Willhoit and Peggy Baron) in the internet marketing arena are using Twitter to share tips as well as to build a community of followers.

So realising I am in the blogging arena, I asked myself “Why not I share blogging tips too?”

I love Twitter also because it is micro-blogging. It allows you to blog in a sentence or two on what you are doing or what you want to say.

In a way, it encourages you to make what you want to say sweet and short.

3. what is the comparison between facebook and Twitter?

There were many more questions and the whole interview lasted for about 45 minutes over the phone and I shared ideas from blogging to internet marketing and so on.

In conclusion, it was really a wonderful interview as it gives me an avenue to share my view. Published or not, I think it does not really matter. :p

To end off, to succeed in Twitter, you have to:
1. provide great value Tweets (or short posts) that benefit your followers
2. interact with your followers by responding to their questions or remarks

When I mentioned great value stuff, they can be resource links, tips, freebies, prizes for contests and so on.

Remember you are dealing with human beings. Always remember to add a personal touch in whatever response you give.

I have always been a victim of my own life – living in an over cluttered lifestyle.

There are too many clutters, hurdles, unnecessities, extra things…the list is endless.

Now I am still suffering from it…(remember I am a human too, just like anyone else)

This post is about identifying the different clutters we have in our lives and how we can free ourselves off them.

#1. Refreshing your email Inbox every second

“Anyone guilty of this? Please raise your hands..yes high up!”

If you feel an urge to raise your hands up, you can stand in the same group as me.

I have over 10 email accounts ranging from hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail, mails of self hosted sites and blogs…plenty more…

It is a plague to have too many emails accounts.

Bad dog bad dog…I am referring to myself… :_(

I can’t believe another friend told me he has 20 emails…wowhoho..good luck to him…plenty of excuses to waste his time.

Now, I have learnt to be smart. I used my Microsoft Outlook Express and house all emails under one account and reply them from there.

Or you can do it in another easier way – stick to one email for personal and another one for business or other purpose.

At most 2 emails.

#2. Hey! my friend is online on Skype…so are my 35 other friends

Not sure if you encounter this before. You on your desktop, ready to complete an assignment or task.

Your Skype or msn is set to auto-on and your friend sent you a message when he saw you online.

Both of you started chatting. 15 minutes had passed. 1 hour had passed. 2 hours had passed.

Your friend went offline and for a moment you asked yourself why you on your computer in the first place.

Ok, now I learnt to be more disciplined. I do not power on my modem unless it is required.

Otherwise, I do not even install MSN or Skype in the first place.

Kinda of hard ah…

Ok, I disabled the auto-on or auto detect network mode.

Now I am safe…

#3 I know I have to do this…and that and this…so which one?

How many times I have experienced this?

I know I have to check my emails and ended up on my Twitter page checking for replies. And the next moment, a friend called and I am on the phone.

Times passed quickly and I have yet to check my email.

Too many distractions!!!! Stopppppppppppppppp!

Now I learnt to do a to-do list and prioritise them.

Here is how it works.

Assuming I need to check email, post some letters, create my blogging cheatsheet and hold a online conference with my partner in the morning.

I will label them from #1 to #4 and rank them from 1 to 4 in order of importance.

I will do the most important task and allocate a fixed amount of time for it.

By noon, I have to make sure I complete all the tasks and that is it.

So far, this daily routine has served me well and you can easily do this too.

Remember, too much clutter and disorder in our life can create a lot of time wasters. Live everyday uncluttered and prioritise your tasks well. Good luck!

Earlier this year, I have set a goal for myself to reach a 5 figure monthly income by 31st March. I am glad to say that I am just another $1000 to the 5 figure mark.

What I want to share here is not so much of how I am going to reach the target. More importantly, I am going to share about goal setting.

Goal setting is important if you want to succeed in a business. It does not matter if it is an online or offline business. It does not matter what kind of Internet Wealth system you use.

Business is business and you got to have a plan and a time line all lay out to meet your goal and target.

When I first created my blogging guide Bloggers Paycheck, I have set to achieve a $10,000 gross sale within 3 months.

Do I know how to go about doing that?

Seriously and honestly, no.

One thing I know I have a target set and I am going to do whatever it takes to achieve even if I have to bang my head against my keyboard at the end of the day to get my $10,000.

The number one reason why most marketers fail is they fail to plan and have an end in mind.

We got to plan with the end in mind. The end is where you want to be.

It could be tangible goals such as achieving $100 per day in 3 months’ time. Or it can be to have 3 hours free every night so that you can spend time with your children.

Goal setting is vital and should be the number one thing you need to do if you commit the making your dream of being a successful entrepreneur come true.

How often do we try to multitask and end up not doing a single thing well?

It is not easy to multitask, trying really hard to do every task well at the same time.

In the past, I used to do that and it could be really stressful since the day I started my internet marketing.

Trying hard to manage 5 projects within a single month, waking up early in the morning writing a 5 pages report while checking my emails at the same time…and expectedly, the quality of the report is not there.

Ever since I had been experiencing a certain tension in my chest, I stopped multi-tasking. I do one thing at a time and so should you.

I realise the benefit of doing one thing is that you can give your 100% attention on the presenting task.

And you can really do it very well when you put your heart and soul to it.

I know it is not simple to internalize this learnt habit as it took me sometime to learn that, especially when I could be really stubborn when come to taking advice. And I sometimes do many things at a time and you know that if you are following me on Twitter.

I know we are all here together on the side of the fence doing our best to create our better tomorrow. But when there is no health (or poor health), there is not going to be any tomorrow and I speak from a personal experience.

I had a friend who earned a 5 figure income per month and he worked really hard. One day, he didn’t wake up from his sleep and he is only 35 then.

In our journey of creating a better life for ourselves plus our families, we work really hard, and at most of the times, forgetting to take care of our health.

This is a BIG NO NO!

So what I want to say in this post is keep everything simple and you still can create your business development in a manner which can still achieve your goal by doing one thing at a time while keeping everything simple.

I stumbled into IM while building a wedding blog as a wedding gift for my wife. You can read more about how I started my wedding blog.

Then, I met some local friends who had been in IM for the past 1 year and they taught me more. =)

It was later through reading IM physical books as well as ebooks expose me to more about IM.

I must say I am really lucky to have met quite a number of millionaires and 6 figures monthly earners who are willing to show me the rope to marketing online.

It was definitely not a smooth journey. I remembered when I first started out, I was working till 2 to 4am almost everyday.

Now I still do, especially the whole team is working together to push out another product.

No matter what, I just want to say if you want to sustain long in this industry, you have to take good care of yourself. Then we can take good care of our family and our customers.
